My pleasure, bosn. Very ironic and tragic story, but such is war, I suppose. I know I've definitely gained my share of knowledge from working on these (I get sidetracked real easily while looking for commissioning dates and patches). I know I've learned more than I ever absorbed in history class (might be because my brain is more sponge-like now than it was then:rotfl: )

Have not been in here for a bit, how go things in the workshop lads?
Hope all is well.

Ha ha

Now where did that stencil kit get to?

ReallyDedPoet 05-16-08 05:47 PM

Hey sqk,

How goes the battle?

I was going to put this question to DT earlier. I am playing the new Trigger and have noticed an issue when applying a skin. When submerging the watch do not disappear but stay on the bridge. I know Trigger mods various aspects of the sub, I was wondering if something like this can be fixed.

Sorry if this has been asked here before :yep:

3 questions:

Is this thing still running? Seems it hasn't been touched in a while.

How long do I usually have to wait to see my name on the page to download the flags?

And do destroyers count as capital ships?

Digital_Trucker 05-17-08 07:35 PM

Hey, Fishlord. The answers to your questions are:

Yes.
It depends.
No

Seriously, yep, we're still in business. I just got your request yesterday and should have it done sometime tomorrow. It normally takes a day or so to get the initial stuff done or to do an update. The length of time to do it depends on how busy (in real life or game life) we are. And destroyers count as warships, but the only capital ships we count are carriers and battleships.

Hey, RDP

That problem of the watch staying on the bridge is related, I believe, to the CO2 bug in 1.5. I don't have it yet, but I've seen others post relating to the same problem. It doesn't happen in 1.4, so I'm guessing it's a "new bug".

Ok DT, thanks for the info :yep: Maybe it will be figured out in the future.

OK thanks. The reason I was asking was that I do about two patrols a day usually so you might see me as a new frequent customer

BTW are there any plans to apply this to the U boats as well (I don't know if many crews used kill flags in the KM)?

Digital_Trucker 05-18-08 11:42 AM

Welcome aboard, Fishlord (I'm a poet and don't know it)

If you're going to be that regular of a customer, I suppose we should offer you the "volume discount":D As for the U-Boats, I don't forsee us getting into the U-Boat Killflag business. Unless I'm wrong, there doesn't appear to be a big demand for them. Besides, since I don't have the add-on, I wouldn't be able to test the graphics.

I forgot to mention earlier the way that the updates work these days. After your update is done, you will receive a PM from us telling you that your update is done. If it's your first time as a Killflags "customer" or if we had to "build" a new boat for you, there will be a post in this thread with the flags and sub skin and a link to the post in the PM. If it's not your first time and it's a boat that we've already built before, your update information will be in the PM.

Okay, on to business:

Welcome to the Killflags family, Fishlord:arrgh!:

Ok I think I have a problem. I first downloaded and enabled the USS Drum skin (not the one you sent me, the one from the first page). I had a nice white and blue color pattern. Once I enabled the flags however, it went to a weird brown color, the way it is in the stock game. Isn't it supposed to have the Drum skin? Am I doing something wrong?

In what order should I enable all the skins?

PS I just sent in a new report with some revisions to make it less confusing for you...

Digital_Trucker 05-18-08 05:12 PM

Is the Drum graphic with the killflags on the side of the conning tower? If it is, then the skin is activated correctly. Since I didn't know which skin you had downloaded (or even if you had downloaded one), I used the combo skin (there are 3 choices of skins for the Drum). It uses a black color scheme for early war and the gray scheme for late war. I don't know where you might have gotten a blue and white one unless your colors are a little off. What date is it in your campaign?

Only one skin needs to be enabled in order for it to work correctly.

I got your new update. It shows the same number of patrols, but different totals in all kill categories and a different total tonnage. I wasn't confused until you sent the second report:rotfl: I'm supposing you want me to use the second set of stats?

Ok thanks. That's exactly what's happening.

Is it too much hassle if I put the date in with the name and you pick the right skin from now on?

This is from the first post:

Here's how it works:
We're releasing default subs in batches.
Hop over to http://battleflags.net/

1. First you get a hi-res fooskin -FooFighters' with a boat emblem on it.

2. Click on the 'Download a boat' link.<<<<This is where I downloaded a Drum skin.

I got the "SS228 USS Drum Weathered_Gato FooSkin" from that site. I suppose that's just a default early war one.

Its because I realized I had played about three patrols in a Sargo class, but counted all three of them as Drums when I did the first report. Between the two reports I played another three patrols or so, I just remembered to change the ship totals and tonnage this time  So yes, the second set is the correct set.

Digital_Trucker 05-19-08 08:04 AM

Which skin you use is up to you. If you want to use the weathered one, just make sure you specify that in your update request. Actually, the black skin is the early war and the weathered gray is the late war. The combo skin automatically changes from black to gray depending on the date of the patrol.

The main thing is to let us know which skin you are using so we know what skin to put the killflags on. If you don't specify which skin, 99.999999999999999999999% of the time, I will chose the combo because it relfects the actual color schemes used at different times during the war. This is especially important when there are several skins available for a particular boat.

No problem on the updated figures. Just let me know which skin you want to use and I'll put the flags on the one of your choice.
