Ok thanks guys. I was just making sure. One more thing. I was ordered to patrol around some islands for 5 days and then another area. on the nav map there are green circles three of them I think. Am I supposed to patrol and set a course inside the circles are is there a given area or radius as I can complete those orders?

New Boat - a bit off topic.

Blatantly bragging about my new vessel. See Hardware specs below. Avoided all the Win10 reinstall issues by simply putting my old hard D: drive containing SH4 FOTRSU into my new machine as a new H: drive. Worked like a charm.
It’s a major advantage to having a separate drive for the game if you can do it. My old Mach V made it for 9+ years. I was lucky to be able to salvage its 3 hard drives and add them to the new Talon. Th guys at Falcon-NW did a great job. |

Big thing though, we need the details of what you have there. I will assume you are doing a December 7th, 1941 start, but I don't know if you're at Pearl or Manila. As I mentioned, we did fix issues with two of the Marshalls assignments out of Pearl, but do please let us know the details of what you had, just-in-case... :salute: Quote:

yes so took a screen shot but forgot how to post them on here. but the first objective is:
Patrol the designated area around Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall islandsfor 5 days. Patrol Marshalls Rangelap Atoll and surrounding area so im just trying to understand how its designed. so im supposed to patrol inside the circles specifically or the circles are just letting you know "hey its here" and i patrol a certain radius like say 50 nm radius around these areas for 5 days? sorry just as little confused lol :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up: |
That's a good enough description. I'll check the files, but it does sound like one of the two that were worked on for the next version.
As for the patrol, one of the circles has a star inside of it. Go to that location and patrol inside the circle until the star turns grey. It might say "five days", but it might be shorter. Most missions like that though, are over out of the Philippines. When the star turns grey, the objective is completed. You should then receive more orders for another objective, and shortly thereafter, another yellow start should show on the map, most likely inside one of the circles that are already drawn on the NavMap for you. You might have two, three, four or more objectives like that. :salute: |
Alright, tha I you very much. I played a little last night and sunk a destroyer patrolling at the edge of the island. I've played off and on and the destroyers always seemed to magically see the torpedoes and speed up to be missed but this time I got one. Big improvement. Great mod so far !

FOTRS Ultimate Team,
30 Dec 1941 at 08:58 hrs. USS Pompano (SS-181) out of Pearl Harbor on her second patrol to sink enemy shipping in the Kii Suido area for ten days. Spotted two maru on an estimated course of 238° at a speed of nine knots. The position was Long 134° 59' E. Lat 33° 10' N. or 42.8 nm, 190° from the town of Gobo, Japan. The weather at the time of the observation was partial clouds with no rain or fog and the wind speed was one-meter per second from a direction of 282°. The convey contained two merchant ships no escorts. The leading ship was a Large Composite Freighter, which was acting normally in the seas. The trailing ship was identified as a Medium Modern Composite Freighter which was rolling from starboard to port with an estimated list of thirty degrees. https://i.postimg.cc/Xr2rBW70/Rolling-MMCF.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/XZppwPpB/Starboard-side-roll.jpg I just perform a clean install of the Wolves of Pacific recently. :salute: Larry |

Edit: OK, 41a_Jap_Merchants layer has two suspects, and the "Here" note designates approximately where you reported yourself. If I'm incorrect in that, let me know. But I did find RGG (Random Generated Group) 41a_Jap_Merchant_085 has a hard right-hand turn, close to 90° at WP 1, which can contribute to issues such as you describe, however, their "track" is further away from you, and that is the only issue. https://i.imgur.com/LFtPC5U.jpg btw, the group to the right side has a TroopShip that spawns in it, so is not a suspect. Not on the screen showing its origination point is RGG 41a_Jap_Merchant_001, which has a 120° turn to navigate through the straits just above and out of that image. Also a potential contribution. However, probably the main cause is an invalid "Speed" setting at a couple of the WayPoints near your location. We recently altered some of the ships for more "realistic" speeds and sonar sounding on the sub's hydrophone, which resulted in altered top speeds of the ships. This group has some 10 knot settings at WayPoints, whereas the "GENERIC Freighter" is only capable of a 9.6 knot speed. "He tried to keep up, but his poor little legs finally just gave out." It's trying to keep up, but can't, hence possibly causing the "bad" spawn. Here's the fix: https://i.imgur.com/15jW7O2.jpg Additionally, the neighboring "speeds" at the WayPoints have been set to "compliant" speeds. I will have to find my script for finding "invalid" speeds and run it on ~all~ the files in the game apparently. I thought the changes only affected the capital ships, but apparently not... Thanks again for the details you provided Larrywb57. Took me right to the spot! :salute: |

Thanks for the quick reply and of course for the job that you and the team are doing. :salute: Larry |
Has the most real looking water of all the megamods. I like that the Gato has the conning tower with the aa gun in front instead of the thing with the portholes that the other mods have. In the sub school navigation mission there is a whole convoy moving out, and the other bases have a lot more traffic. I hit the Victory freighter with a dozen deck gun shots on one side and a few on the other and it sank in a couple minutes, definitely easy mode. You should knick the sinking model from otc or rfb.

Prop ... something I noticed last night I had not noticed before. The submarine in less than smooth seas seem to have a normal bow to stern pitch with the weather but barely if at all rolled port or starboard. Can this be adjusted to be more realistic with changes in the weather? Thank you. |
If the CG is to low in the sim? You'll not get proper actions on sea states.
