I haven't even looked into crew animations yet (as far GR2 file goes). I have just about got the importer for the GR2 editor/viewer to let you load in new geometry into a file. I'm this close to having it work perfectly!
As far as getting crew to move to that position that can be done quite easily. It's getting the animations correct that currently isn't possible.

Depth Gauge not available on UZO view using Options Editor/Viewer.

Thanks for info on Animation status. I know many Kapitan's are very interested in this.
Mainly to add more Deck Gun Crew when Deck Gun Station is active.

Ah yes, it isn't available on UZO station.

You can add more deck gun crew fairly easily. You have to clone the GR2 file, rename the bone nodes, and then adjust their position to where you want the extra crew. Assign new waypoints (waypoints are the bones) for some crew members and write a script that 'adds' them when deck gun station called for :up:

Is there a hot key that will take screen shots without the UI that works with this mod? I have not been able to use the Delete key to turn it on and off...so am trying to find a work around. I can edit screenshots to remove the UI elements but it takes a lot of work. I was not sure if there is a default screenshot key for SHV and if there is if it removes the default UI from the pictures as some game engines do.

Ah there is no problem. I didn't code in the showing of the marks on the TAI map. I made them show on nav map only. There are reasons why for this and not just because I didn't want to. How I got these to work in the first place is a convoluted mess and making them work on the nav map was hard enough. The TAI, yeah, don't even want to think about it :-?

I believe shift+z does it (might be ctrl+z). I know I look for one of those key combinations.

Some suggestions.
The following applies if you don't have an American or English keyboard. I've found this working (at least for me).

If you install an American or English keyboard layout (in Windows language settings) and then run SH5 with that layout keys work.

To toggle kbd layouts you can even set whatever hotkey(s) you like (Language settings > Advanced settings tab in Windows).
Then - to know which layout you are running you can even set it to show in the bottom right corner of the screen.


Depending on what kind of kbd you have (e.g. German/French) this can be a bit tricky as the keys you see don't all correspond to the American/English kbd layout.

(Maybe this is why I got me an American keyboard :D)

If you now run SH5 with that kbd layout (Am/English) the Num Pad Del Key should switch the UI off.

i installed this mod but for some reason i'm not getting the crew member shortcuts, nor the crew commands. anyone knows why?

i'm sorry, i'm confused D: and the tutorials are not helping, i've downloaded the mods and put them in my mod folder, and i'm trying to use the options file editor to disable well... everything except the radio and gramaphone... but when i launch the fileeditviewer it doesn't load any tabs... all i have is a file option and selecting file only allows me to choose "set path to menu txt" and "set path to sh5 install"

what am i missing? D:

also i noticed a possible conflict between your ui and "free cam tweaks 1.1 -regular" i'm guessing i should disabled the free cam tweaks?

The options editor/viewer needs to reference the menu.txt file of the mod for strings thus you need to first point it to where this file is located (in MODS folder). After that you to tell it where your SH5 install path is (where your \Silent Hunter 5 is). After you do both of those you can finally open the options file (in the MODS folder). The path to the menu.txt file and the path to your SH5 install will be saved to a cfg file so you won't have to enter those again.

the app you used to unzip the compressed file corrupted it or you didn't install the mod correctly. You cannot simply unzip the mod and copy straight to MODS folder. Will not work.

I use ZipGenius to do all my file compressing/decompressing.

i use winrar, works fine for me...
on a side not, as i already had a "pre-existing" mod folder i just unzipped the contents of your mod folder into it, (no point having a mod folder in a mod folder, jsgm gets confused then )
so i'm wanting to add the "menu.txt" from the NewUIs_TDC_6_9_0_ByTheDarkWraith folder? or from a different folder, the zip had 9 different folders which im guessing are 9 different mods....

yes from that folder. That is the main mod, all the rest are add-ons

where's the options file located xD

the options file is located in \data\Scripts\Menu

When it asks you to select the folder where SH5 is that means folder. If you can select a file using that OpenFolderBrower class Microsoft has some explaining to do :yep:
