My daughter will take great pleasure in imaginary play including adults, then every now and again she'll just look at us and say something like, 'it's only a toy!', right after we've said something really stupid (but within the game).

She also does the voice for a lot of her toys (and other inanimate objects!), and sometimes we do the voice for her. One day she was with my mum and saw a dog in the back of a car - she said, 'hello, doggy', the dog (my mum) said, 'hello, Heidi!'.

'How does that doggy know my name?'
