Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will promise to sweep away the "greed-is-good" culture that caused the 2008 economic crash if he wins power.

He will set out plans to "transform Britain" and "kickstart a green jobs revolution", in his conference speech.

This will include 400,000 skilled "green" jobs to insulate homes and build more wind farms.

Yeah, okay, of course you will.

Labour MP Laura Smith calls for general strike
Laura Smith, the Labour MP for Crewe and Nantwich, has called for a general strike to help bring down the Conservative government - if there isn't a general election.

She spoke at Momentum organised The World Transformed festival, which is running alongside the Labour Party conference in Liverpool.

A general strike is when workers from across industries take action collectively in large numbers.

Being bereft of any original ideas of their own I should imagine they;re happy to piggyback or steal any parties ideas.

Looking forward to hearing the Corbyn twaddle today but can't help wondering if he would be best suited to give it at the Tory conference :hmmm:

Here we go...

Not much so far.

Winning the public debate? I find that hard to believe.

NHS a shiny beacon! Who are you bloody kidding, both you and the Tories have sent it down the plug hole with your political point scoring off each other.

No more left behind people and community! What a load of tripe, times I have heard this bull from all party's and all of you do nothing.

Long term targets will be met. Yea sure that old chestnut again which we all know is guff.

THE SPEECH OVER ALL.. I found it dull and full of party guff that did nothing for me to vote Labour.

So far the LibDems and Labour have not said anything that will make me vote for them. Will the Tories do any better? Don't hold your breath as I have a feeling no they will not.

Not a bad speech actually....saying a lot of the right things but no information how these costly exercises would be paid for.

The usual leftwing/Trotsky twaddle as I predicted a few hours earlier.
