President Biden has expressed regret for saying during a July 8 call with donors to his campaign that it's "time to put Trump in the bullseye."
"It was a mistake to use the word," Biden told NBC News. Ya think? |

Could also be this shooter felt he was given the go ahead by Biden's words and the shooter hadn't planned on killing Trump before these words. Markus |

Now I wonder-Can a candidate only sit for two terms even if there's years between these ? Markus |
However we have had a politician who was both ,"Vice President" & "President", without being elected to either office. :03:

The only way he could is to repeal the 22nd Amendment, and that ain't gonna happen. Nor should it. |

Case in point, if Harris were to be president now, before Biden's term ended she could be elected twice more for a total of 9 years. Had she taken over his term last year, she could only be reelected once more. |

Glad I could make it clear as mud for you. :D
BTW: Gerald Ford is the only politician to hold the office of both Vice President & President without being elected to either office. :03: |

Note that the amendments language doen't mention any breaks between terms of office. "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice". If Trump wins in November he'll have been elected twice and therefore not able to run for a third term in 2028 or afterwards. |

Changing an Amendment to the constitution would require a two thirds majority in both houses, right? By the way, Trump's designated VP candidate has some strange views on things: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GSjccryW...pg&name=medium |

Once upon a time, in the bustling heart of Washington D.C., whispers of a secretive initiative called "Project 2025" filled the air. It was said to be the brainchild of none other than Donald J. Trump, former President and ever-controversial figure, who had somehow returned to the political scene with more vigor than ever.
According to the rumor mill, Project 2025 was a grand, enigmatic plan that Trump had meticulously crafted during his years out of office. The Democrats, fueled by their most imaginative conspiracy theories, were convinced that it was a scheme of epic proportions. Their theories ranged from the plausible to the downright fantastical. In a dimly lit room, deep within the labyrinthine halls of a nondescript government building, a group of top Democratic strategists had gathered. They were there to discuss the most recent intelligence on Project 2025. The atmosphere was tense, with a sense of urgency that was almost palpable. https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIG1.guat6...ewt6?pid=ImgGn Nancy Pelosi, looking particularly stern, addressed the group. "We have reliable information that Project 2025 is not just about a political comeback. It's something much bigger. Trump's plan involves... time travel." The room fell silent. Eyes widened in disbelief, and a few muffled chuckles could be heard. Pelosi, however, was serious. "According to our sources, Trump has allegedly acquired a device that allows him to travel back in time. His goal? To rewrite history in his favor, ensuring that he remains in power indefinitely." Adam Schiff leaned in, his face a mask of concern. "But how could he have possibly obtained such a device? This sounds like something out of a science fiction movie." Pelosi nodded. "Indeed, but consider the evidence. Strange occurrences have been reported at Mar-a-Lago, and there have been sightings of individuals who look remarkably like Trump in different eras. This is no coincidence." As the strategists brainstormed ways to counter this unprecedented threat, Trump was busy at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago. The mansion had been transformed into a high-tech command center, complete with a secret underground laboratory. There, a brilliant but eccentric scientist named Dr. Tempus worked tirelessly on the time travel device. Trump, wearing his signature red tie and an uncharacteristically futuristic-looking pair of goggles, paced back and forth. "Doc, we need to make sure this thing is foolproof. I can't afford any slip-ups. We have to go back to 2016 and ensure my victory is even more tremendous." Dr. Tempus, adjusting a complex array of dials and buttons, nodded. "Mr. Trump, the device is almost ready. Just a few more calibrations, and you'll be able to travel through time with pinpoint accuracy." Meanwhile, the Democrats had devised a counter-plan. They enlisted the help of a brilliant hacker known only as "The Blue Phantom." This elusive figure had a knack for infiltrating even the most secure systems. The plan was simple: hack into Trump's time machine and sabotage it from within. In a dramatic midnight operation, The Blue Phantom successfully breached Mar-a-Lago's security and accessed the time machine's control panel. With swift, precise keystrokes, the hacker planted a virus that would redirect Trump's time travels to completely random periods in history. The next morning, Trump, unaware of the sabotage, eagerly activated the device. A brilliant flash of light enveloped him, and he disappeared, leaving behind a bewildered Dr. Tempus. Trump found himself in ancient Rome, standing in the middle of the Colosseum. Gladiators and spectators alike stared at the strange man with the orange hair and outlandish attire. Trump, undeterred, began to deliver a speech about making Rome great again, much to the confusion of the onlookers. Back in the present, the Democrats celebrated their victory. Project 2025 had been thwarted, and Trump was now lost in time, hopping from one era to another, spreading his unique brand of politics wherever he went. In the end, Project 2025 became a legend, a story of time travel, political intrigue, and the indomitable spirit of a man who refused to fade into obscurity. As for Trump, his adventures through history became the stuff of myth, a testament to the unpredictable and often hilarious twists of fate. |
