Sneaking into Rabaul is actually easy :( All you need to do for that CV recon is to hug the south shoreline and you won't run into mines or subnets. Just at about the tip of the south shoreline , you're like 3-4nm from the CVs -- enough for a photo. You may even take a shot at them with slow mk 14s, since by the time they strike you'll be quite some distance away and the DDs won't have a clue where you fired from.
