I do not experience any FPS loss while using PPF. I switched to not having PPF on after ROW arrived on the scene. My LOD is all the way over to the left because I believe the LOD is for land and land objects. Being I'm always out in the Pacific with no land, made no sense to have the LOD to the right. Anyway, I shut off PPF which I did like very much but ROW and slight adjustment on the gamma slider and the overall picture just looked better to me. Give it a try, can always go back it you do not care for the look.

The cool thing about post process filters is that like most in-game graphics options, it can be previewed immediately without having to restart the game.

Thanks for the info.....been running with everything on max...will definately do some fine tuning at this point...PP first

AVG, especially your LOD to the left...I kind of forgot about that one....the frame rates seem to stay in the 25's when in port depending on the camera angle. Out in the deep blue its super smooth 40's. Even when there is a lot of fire and smoke.

The way I run my own game and make all adjustmnets for

Is with environmental effects on / Light Shafts on / Full Scene Glare OFF / 3D Ship wakes on / Detailed Wave ripples on / Ship Normal Maps on / Ship Caustic Effect's on / Texture Quality High on / Vertical Sync on / Post Process Filters OFF

All slider's are all the way to the right except Gamma which I set to give me nice night time darkness so that only the moon and lightning reflections and natural light presents any light on my sub at night.

I figure if I can make the effect's look good and work nicly with the other effect's off then they will look just fine with them on. If my effect's and or work has to be covered up with a filter to make them look right then I go back to the drawing board.

Why is it the only time you say anything on this thread it is negative in nature? Have you made a mod yet?

Well.. I think the old saying, "He who can does...He who can't, becomes a critic" ..seems applicable here. :yep:

I think Leo has explained why the moon and sun are the sizes they are about a thousand times! Read the begining of this thread and you will find all about it.

Wish people would at least skim through the prior posts in a thread instead of parachuting in at the end and asking the same question or making the same point others have, ad nauseam, because it means the thread just goes round and round in circles. :damn:

leovampire 10-11-07 05:18 PM

mrbeast and Canonicus

Look at the other posts he has made in other threads they are only negative in nature. Calls people in a round about way uneducated and complains about this and that.

Has some personal life problems that he probeably can not solve so he takes it out on others including the Dev's.

I always see what else they say in their other threads to find out more about them.

I am a picky guy when it comes to my work and do things time and time again because I don't like the way something came out. That is why there are updated downloads for stuff with me over time. Always strive to make it better.

But guy's like him don't care they are user's and abusers there is always a bad apple in the bunch excuse the metafore.

Well if someone came into my home (subsim mods forum) and pooped on the work that took me countless hours of hard work and labor.. I think I would be just a little peeved too!

I guess the critic might feel differently...if the shoe was on the other foot, so to speak.

I didn't know that I had to build a car to be allowed to drive one- or making positive criticiscm about it.

Also, I cannot be bothered to rifle through 40plus pages of postings on this thread just to find out that it has - or has not- been already discussed. I have more to do with my time.

As for your other abuse, that was totally uncalled for. I tried to point out an issue that I saw in the mod and you start to spew hatred on me. Shame on you.

leovampire 10-11-07 05:33 PM

I am not peeved

I have and show pitty for them. From an original Star Trek spisode quote, "Pitty is the worst of all"!
