I just ordered the VW Kubelwagen type 82 in huge 1/9 scale to go nicely with the BMW R-75 i was planning:up:
I should receive the delivery this week, so i need to hurry with this boat.

Im having few days off from the shipyard- i got slightly bored with the boat, and instead of pushing it i started making preparations for my next project- ESCI BMW R75 in huge 1/9 scale.
Its such nice kit i thought i will make it slightly better.:D
Im gonna make all the lights work, and working ignition.

I think it is a good idea not pushing the things, especially when the job is near of be completed, a lack on attention may ruin an excellent project, and this u-boat is a master piece.

The lights for your next project look very interesting. I attended IPMS Nationals SMW Telford, England, last November, and there was a submarine like this, but it was opened, using the interior fittings and sections from Czech Master Kits and on the roof of each section it had a couple of LED lights illuminating the interior I can tell you that it looked really wonderful.

you should go for the warm-light white LED, on the right side of your second picture. Xenon lights weren´t so common on Type 82s in these times :O:

One hint for the wiring of the LEDs, especially for the motorcycle where concealing of the wires may be difficult:

In my slotcars I use "Enameled Wire" for wiring the LED lights, it´s available in different diameters (0.5mm and less) and should be available for a few bucks in every electronics store.
Here is a link of an online shop I found with a quick Gogle search in the UK, quite pricy though:

This material is very flexible, basically it is used for coils in relais for example, and easy to handle, you only need to "burn" the enamel varnish with your soldering iron to strip the ends and solder them to the LEDs etc.

the brighter of the LED`s will be replaced by the 1.8mm white LED - i just ordered 40 of them from states, and awaiting delivery.
The wires will be replaced also. It is only the mock up, to see whats needed, and corrections will be applied soon.
I like to get everything sorted before the model is put togeteher to avoid disapointment :yeah:

You should search for "Kupferlackdraht" if you go for a german online shop. In the first one a 115m coil of 0.2mm wire costs 1,70€ and will last roughly a whole life :D, it´s also quite handy for repairing PCBs. Hope this link will work:

This copper wire in greater diameter can also be used for scratchbuilding steel cables, e.g. for tow ropes on tanks, I found a nice how-to for that once a while ago, I´ll have to check if I can retrieve this link.
