@ BBury, as you can see in my above posts pic my crew will probably come down with a bad cold. I just hope that they don't find out I forgot to order rain gear from the clothing dept in pearl. :damn: :rotfl:
Wonder if it has anything to do with the type Sub or year? ( bug wise I mean ) I've the USS Tuna ( Tambor class ) and am just now completeing my 2nd patrol out of pearl 1942. See that sailor on the bow cleat? Well he's the one I was suppose to tell to take a jeep and get the rain gear. I forgot.  http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...tSH4patrol.jpg |
I don't know what is causing it. I suspect it's the rain intensity trigger. Maybe your screen is with "light" rain. Maybe some testing needs to be done. My guys are standing on an S-42 boat.

SH4: The Director's Cut
Yeah, I second that, big up the Gizz!
Umm, I just reread the readme that came with Patch 1.1 and it sounded pretty confident, saying things like: 'In game crashes FIXED'. Ironically since, I have experienced just about all of bugs listed in Gizzmore's first post , and a few besides. Bottomline; the list of problems with SH4 is huge and so I'm not suprised it's taking so long for the DEVS to provide patch 1.2. However, they seemed like a nice bunch of guys, judging by the DEVS Diaries and I think they're gonna do their best to finish their masterpiece. Good luck guys  . P.S. I'm not being facetious either, for a change.;) |
Not really a bug, but a poorly implemented feature:
-enabling light shafts turns this graphic effect on below water and above water. Below water is fine, and in fact looks great without a massive performance hit. However, light shafts above the water are tied to the volumetric fog feature that is included in the environmental effects option. Unfortunately, the environmental effects option lumps too many different features together and causes a huge performance hit, but if it is not enabled, fog is disabled altogether. Consequently, if you want to play with light shafts on, but environmental effects off, you will experience apparently clear nights with an insane "aurora borealis" effect in the sky all around you that looks extremely odd. This is because the light shafts are supposed to work in concert with the volumetric fog. So, either 1. make above water and undewater light shaft effects separate options, or 2. tie above water light shafts to the volumetric fog feature. |
I get a sound bug using several mods with the 1.1 patch. I'd be crusing on the surface at an accelerated time of around 2000 and recieve a radio message. Then after that, there would be a continuous muffled engine type sound every two seconds all the time. I can described the sound like a car stuck deep in a ditch and revving the engine and going nowhere over and over again.
When i quite to Windows and reload it goes aways for awhile. Will try various options like not using any ambiant sound mod file for inside and outside the sub. Letting the default game sound file play those sounds. Anyone else run into this sound bug using mods? |
Java, not Jawa.
and Java sea, not Jawa sea. this has probably already been posted. I would like to see a complete map overhaul, with spellings, ofcourse. |

Aswell as many of the bugs already listed I have also on more than one occasion encountered merchant ships that refuses to die!
Last night I torpedoed a large modern tanker with nine hits yet it still carried on sailing! I love the silent hunter series for one thing only and that is the feeling of imersion in the game and of being a real captain in total control of my situation but at the moment I cannot get to anyware near the level of enjoyment I got from the other 3 games when they came out. This will be that game I know but not at present. My game time has all but dried up now untill patches/mods rescue this game for me. |

Call it a bug/omission/whatever you want, but...
There needs to be class limits for the officers, petty officers, and enlisted seamen. We had this feature in SH3, so why was it taken away in SH4? As it is now, given the right conditions, one can end up with a boat full of nothing but officers and petty officers, with no restrictions whatsoever. Not to mention, the maximum number of crew each boat can carry is off, especially for the S-class boats. Bug/oversight #2 has to do with the S-class boat's sonar and radar suite. Accoring to http://www.fleetsubmarine.com/s-class.html , S-class boats were not fitted with sonar nor PPI radar. |
I have A6 all the time now (Freezing/slow downs after hitting "M" when a lot of messages are present.)
I never had this problem till about my 5th patrol. Makes it really hard to complete objectives since I need to contact HQ. Sure hope they get this fixed soon |
