as you can see in the hahd thread in the sh3 forum, the speedfinder-clock was a 100 seconds one. can you change this?

Yes it can be changed. I would need a new graphic for the 100 seconds though :hmmm:

Would it be possible to put the hull integrity % on the main UI as an option .

TDW Need some help please...

Hi TDW,

if you look at my last posting on the OH help desk you can see what is happening; only with 1.4 as OH 1.3 works perfectly!

Could you take a look at the options.py files and see if there is anything wrong with them?

The copy is a unicode version and the other is ANSI; with the ANSI I get the first problem and with Unicode the amazingly colourful second version.....

I'm ripping my hair out as all is well using the ANSI file in 1.3 but would really like to use 1.4 if the issue is solvable

Thanks

EDIT I think I have uploaded the old 6.7.0 files, will reupload the 6.8.0 ones.... may have just confused which version .mep I should have used in JSGME.......

EDIT EDIT ignore me TDW. Problem solved I had lost a # silly old gyt I am

Hello, I am having a bit of a headache with this mod but it is too useful to not have installed.

I have been trying to figure out for a couple days and here is where I'm at.

When I look through my attack scope, UZO, or observation scope and I click on the "All" option my Torpedo Firing Gauges in the top left completely disappear. See this image below (top left corner)....

As a test I have removed all my MODS except for the NewUIs_TDC_6_8_0_ByTheDarkWraith and am still experiencing the issue.

Just wondering if this has maybe been encountered before and if there is a fix or maybe someone has some ideas?

Try deleting the mod and downloading a fresh copy:hmmm:

Norwind 10-07-11 04:38 PM

Yep, deleted the MOD and its optional MODs and downloaded and reinstalled it using JSGME (it is the only MOD currently enabled) and still seeing the issue. :damn:

I swear the first time I loaded the MOD that it was working. Do these MODS change anything in the core game folders? I'm thinking I may go as far as reinstalling the game tonight. I have spent soooo many hours on this, and restarting the game every time is not a quick task.

UPDATE: Well I have a bit of a workaround. If I change this option "AttackTDCMode = TDCAllDials" to read "AttackTDCMode = TDCMinimalDials" I can at least see the graphic (as long as I don't select the "All" option).

Sorry Norwind - I have no idea what could be happening.
Perhaps TDW will be online sometime soon.

Until then you could use minimal dials - you still have the same controls with that setting

Norwind 10-07-11 05:03 PM

Ok, I'm not sure if this will help but I am now noticing something.

If the Attack Scope option is pre-set to "All" when I go into the game and click anywhere where the graphic should be nothing happens. I cannot see it no matter what I do.

If the Attack Scope option is pre-set to "Minimal" when I go into the game and click on "All" I lose the graphic, but now when it disapears if I click anywhere on the screen where the graphic is supposed to be it will bring it back up and I can see everything until I click on "All" again.

Clear as mud :)

Well good news....I uninstalled SH5 completely and re-downloaded and installed (it's a Steam install) and my issues have cleared up. Maybe when I was working on my MODS the last few days something broke. Now I'm goint to re-activate all my MODS and keep my fingers crossed.

AOB reset

I have a question.

When preparing attack, once I input range and AOB to TDC and after a few minutes I re-input new range to the TDC,
and then the AOB which is being updated by TDC automatically is reset to the first value inputed by me.
And for sure the same as in SH5 stock.

Is there any way not to be reset it?

Please advise me thanks.

I did try doing a forum search, but couldn't find the info I was looking for... perhaps I was searching for the wrong terms.

I installed TDW 6.8, and other than a handful of issues with hotkeys, my boat is behaving like it's got lead for ballast. I sit so low in the water that the crew essentially refuses to use the deck guns, probably getting sick of cleaning salt water from the barrel.

I know it has something to do with the mod, as it's the only one I have installed. Loading a save game with it, and then without it, shows a very substantial difference.

I tried adding the Improved Waves - Pitch & Roll, and that improves it substantially, but since I don't know what else the TDWUI mod changes in the ship file, I imagine I'm somehow disabling some of its features with the IWPR mod...

Anyway, long story short, am I missing something obvious? A setting or a patch or update? A sub should float, at least some of the time.

Thanks in advance. :D

**Little Update...

I disabled the mod again, and added the wave one back, and my hull strength went down to 50%... I'm sure someone knows why this is, but seemed like a clue to the mechanics of it working, and thought I should share it... **

Because i have problems with that new FileEditorViewer program i did a global search for "FileEditorViewer.exe." or " FileEditorViewer.exe" or "FileEditorViewer". But i got for all the same search result: "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." This is definitively wrong.

Something is wrong with that search-engine ;)

Anyone ever had your clock stuck to the top of the screen? When mine opens (the first times is actually does, but that's another problem) it's locked to the top right corner of the screen just left of the TC bar. I can just barely see the top button of it to turn it on and off (can't see that at all on the UJagd version) but can't move it. When I hover over it I see the "move" icon off to the side where the status icons are, but can't move it or the clock. Anyone else have this problem? Tried searching in this thread, but didn't see anything similar.

Try this kylania - it is the normal way to solve stuck items:up:

The position information is stored in a file for each page. The files are located in your SH5 install path (...\Silent Hunter 5). The files are named as follows: pagex_Draggables.TDW. The information in the files is stored in binary form and can be viewed using a hex editor if one wishes. To erase all stored position information simply delete the pagex_Draggables.TDW files. Upon restart of the game new files will be created and the items will be at their stock default location.
NOTE: if you are having trouble with items not repositioning or the likes it is probably because Windows is enforcing a privilege level on the game. Simply start the game with Admin rights (right click the SH5 icon and select RunAs-->Administrator)

Ok so I have a few questions related to the NewUI's TDC 6_8_0 mod.

1) Changing options - So when you make a change to the options (.py file) for this mod do you need to de-activate and re-activate the mod in JSGME? I'm not seeing my options changes is doing anything which makes me think I need to reactivate (not ideal as it is burried in my Mods list in JSGME).

2) I thought I read someplace that you can turn off the tails and ship colors that show up on the map. I would like to keep some of the nav features on the map going, but I would like to turn these off. Which mod does that?

Thanks in advance.
