1. File/Backup sh5.exe 2. http://www4.picfront.org/picture/4Y9zThPGrjI/thb/01.jpg Click on File/Open/TDW_SH5_Patches.s5p 3. http://www4.picfront.org/picture/1M0EsCMlhfa/thb/02.jpgThen it automatically takes to another window. Click on SH5.exe 4. http://www4.picfront.org/picture/OPJ8sWgir/thb/03.jpgClick on + sign next to Broken Hydophone fix. Then + sign next to change 1. Then double click on the red disable to make it enabled. 5. http://www4.picfront.org/picture/LtwMR4Lb/thb/04.jpg Next you click on + sign next to map colors. Changes 1-15 you can customize your colors. Read the description to see what your changing. First you double click on the IsColor in red and it brings up the color box like the picture. Pick your color. 6.http://www4.picfront.org/picture/G6EewV6XBl/thb/05.jpg Next click on Enabled False to make it true. I think another box comes up asking to accept changes. Click yes. 7. When done making all your changes just click on File exit. |
MIA389,
While I'm most impressed with, and appreciate, the time and trouble you probably went to to create that great SH5 patcher tutorial complete with screen shots it was, unfortunately, to no avail as my operating system is Windows XP and yours, I believe, is Windows 7. None of the screen shots looked like mine and none of the instructions worked. For examplem I could never get the color palette to display. Thanks again but I'm afraid I'm doomed to continue using my big magnifying glass. |
Doh, Let me boot up XP then :D
Ok, Im on my XP side. It still should work like shown above. Here are 2 photos starting the program from XP. Same as Windows 7 really. http://www14.picfront.org/picture/MVYlKS9BU/thb/ss1.JPG http://www14.picfront.org/picture/i8...tT/thb/ss2.JPG To get the color palette to show double click on the IsColor |
MIA 389,
I may be too computer illiterate for SH 5 and I thank you for your two images that match what I had found previously but I can't find anything to double click on named "is Color". |

edit: After sitting back and looking at my lame post to you, sorry for wasteing your time with this Stupid post. With all your hard work, I just wanted to put a Smile on your face for a short moment. Sorry again. TDW :salute: |
On the contrary TDW. Were it not for all your wonderful NewUIs which changed SH5 from a rather drab and incomprehensible chore into what has fast become my favorite pastime I would have been gone a long time ago.
A million thanks to you, Sir! |
thank you for this great mod.

TDW,
I'm getting the hang of using the goblin editor and merging goblin files and sim files. My question is, what variables do I adjust to make the snorkle rest at a lower elevation when it's lowered? I don't care if it sticks out of the bottom of my boat, because my goal is to get it out of my line of sight. Is this doable without reducing the extended height of the snorkle? I don't want to have to snorkle at a shallow depth. As a tangent, how do I edit the rod antenna. I kind of like it sticking up when I am submerged; however, I haven't seen it since I've started using the Beasts R.E.M. mod. I'd like to edit the sim file so that Rod antenna sticks up when I submerge. Thank you. |
I downloaded the mod and found three folders:
Dials Text MODS What do i do with the Dials and Text folders? I noted that the Dials have German American Any.... are these to replace the default dials in the mod GUI folder already? so which are the default ones? and the Text folder ..do we just paste that into the Data folder of the game install? thanks for this mod, just trying to get it in right. And thanks DW for the instructions on how to turn on the SH III dials. |

I wish these things were as easy to compare side by side as CFG files. Also, I wish I could alphabatize the items in the Goblin Editor tree. When you merge the sim file it's a mixmash of names. |
