I dont know why the torpedo loading times show on my screen , im usualy the one strugling with mods instalation. All else works to. Im missing the bearing in Obs tho. I can live without the bearing in binocs , i always look in the direction of the object before lifting the binocs up , but under water - especialy at night using the obs scope im lost for bearing.

Hm, bearing in obs. periscope is shown. Just not in binoculars, and as I said, that's fine with me, actually I like it!
About the torpedo loading times... I don't agree, Mikhayl. I think in critical situations the captain could ask "how long do you need? we need that torpedo ASAP..." the guy in charge (sorry I lack nautical vocabular) could give you a pretty good estimation how many minutes it would take... |
Okay, I come the other half to you so we can fully agree :-) Yes, it shouldn't be in seconds. But then that's a stock issue actually. Best would be something like "less then a minute" ... or "about 5 minutes".
However, this issue is rather minor for me. I think you at least convinced me that I rather have no loading times than exact ones to the second. A good captain knows how long it will take, and he also takes into account who is in the torpedo room, how exhausted they ae and whether there's an officer to swing the whip :) So actually I have no issues with the new OLC (no darkened grammophone keys and no red mouse pointer ... i think i can live with this happily) |

However, I've another observation: one is that the time clock now no longer seems to indicate local time when you hover over it. That was nice, as it gave some idea when to expect sunrise and sunset when you were, for instance, of the East Coast of the US. Is there a different means of ascertaining local time now? |
Right, sorry, my bad for not being able to remember everything I'd played around with in this version. A few things to note:
Yes I removed the bearing indicator from the binocs, then forgot about it. But I kinda like the binocs without it. Your thoughts? Yes I removed the deck gun "binoculars" image out of personal taste. It should be easy enough to put it back in if you want it back - just delete that TGA from the GUI files. Yes the torpedo loading times have been accidentally removed - sorry, that will be fixed in 1.2.1. The gramophone icons will be darkened. The red mouse pointer! There are stock SH3 bugs which cause it to get "stuck on red" which annoys the hell out of me... so I thought I'd get rid of red altogether and be done with it. Bad idea? :hmm: The "local time" issue isn't new, AvH - and it's not so easy to fix, but I'll keep thinking about ways to do it... KL has PM'd me with new info regarding GWX 2.1; the GWX team have gone over *every* ship in GWX and corrected it's mast value for v2.1! (he didn't say whether or not they'd checked for erroneous lengths too, but anyway... ) Therefore I'll be releasing 1.2.1 after GWX2 comes out, with all-new fixed doubled mastheights and the other fixes  |
Thank you one more time. Downloading OLC 1.2....

A few more notes after like 2 hours playing with the newest version:
- I need badly the popups that describe order-icons (icons above officers to give them orders), I as don't remember them. - I too think that the non-draggable nomograph was of more use than that draggable one. - I'd like to have bearing in binoculars view, so that I know what direction I'm looking at. It doesn't have to be exact, though. - I'd like the Angriffscheibe to work just as in U-Jagd mod (boat bearing indicator always on top [12 hour], and the Angr. Kurs indicator moving when periscope moved). - Many people, I suppose, woud really appreciate fixing "gobacks" so that it would be possible to move smoothly through your boat 'like IRL'. That would include goback from nav. map view to Command Room, from Command Room to Radio Room and so on. Some of them are allready done in your mod, but not all. Probably will have some more notes on that after a few more hours playing. However - no matter how many notes, the mod is really good. Thank you for that. |

You mean the tooltips, right? :hmm: I guess I could put those back in, no worries. - I too think that the non-draggable nomograph was of more use than that draggable one. Not all of us want or need a nomograph. I see the draggable one as a good compromise because those that don't need it can drag it off the bottom of the screen and forget about it. BTW, people who do use it have mentioned "drawing lines across it" which, I'm guessing, means horizontal lines to help get exact conversions??? But with the draggable one this should be even easier, as you just need one line (no shortage of horizontal lines on the map) and you can drag the nomo over that. - I'd like to have bearing in binoculars view, so that I know what direction I'm looking at. It doesn't have to be exact, though. I knew that one would cause trouble. :-? - I'd like the Angriffscheibe to work just as in U-Jagd mod (boat bearing indicator always on top [12 hour], and the Angr. Kurs indicator moving when periscope moved). Not going to happen. I want to use the attack disc without having to even touch the scope and I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's far more flexible this way IMO. Wouldn't hurt to include that. |

How difficult is it for one to change the colour of the data text in the lower left (speed, rudder, depth, etc)?
|
Just a tip for people using a nomograph. Just draw a line somewhere and let that be your permanent nomo-line. One end of it will never need to be moved, just align the nomograph with that end of the line instead of the other way around. Then move the other end of the line with the liner tool and use it as you normally would.
Note to OLC: The line you draw is usually not horizontal. |

Color=0xRRGGBBAA Where "RR" is the red channel expressed as a hex number, "GG" is green, "BB" is blue and "AA" is alpha (with zero being fully transparent and 255 being fully opaque). Change that line to suit you. You can use the windows calculator to easily convert to/from hex. |
Hello OLC.
I have a problem with your mod. When I install the translation to my language, the name of the target don't appear in the atack scope. But if I click in the point where it should appear, Then the notepad is opened showing the name of the shipo. Only it is a problem of visualization, I believe. You can indicate me in that file can be the problem to be able to seek for it and to compare it with the program Vmerge.?(*) Thank you very much. Regards. (*)Excuse me. I believe that the last phrase is very bad written. Sorry for my english. |
Hi OLC, great mod bue just some questions why did you changed the original UZO view and binoculars? For historical reasons?
|
Just a suggestion.

For immersion sake, glance at the compass repeater in the center of the turm to get your bearings. |
