How to change the sub's max visibility?:Kaleun_Salute:
In good weather conditions(no wind,no fog,no waves), I can only see the ship of 16400 meters. |

Easier way for test is in sub school (torp attack), and setting 14m for periscope depth is perfect. I can lock just above the sea level. Now we have to be careful cause radar antenna and SD antenna are just about to be seen above water. @ CaptScurvy Now other little thing: - how do you explain that my radar animation is working only before i get any TC? As soon as i TC, radar animation is dead for the rest of session...on any sub class. Same with the periscope depth sound playing (with the bell ringing). After i TC, i get only the chief voice for the rest of session  (On side note i don’t have that in Ralles - it’s working even after TC) |

Second, that is affirmative. I was never offered the Gato class boat out of Brisbane. I went direct from the Sargo boat to Balao while still in Brisbane. Hope this helps! Please don't read any tone into my two points above. I have the utmost respect for your work and that of the FOTRSU team. I'm just trying to be clear in what happened so you can use the info to diagnose what appears to be a problem. I am looking forward to the next release. :salute: |
FOTRSU Team: I read about "patches" to 0.80 RC2. Where are those patches for download? I have FOTRSU 0.80 RC2 only, without "patches".
Many thanks! Fitzcarraldo :Kaleun_Salute: |
And I for one am still waiting for a reply on download link for the FOTRSU PATCH 5!

@ captnmike: I thought I'd sent you a PM over a week ago... sorry about that... no need for a "Patch" anymore though - er, so long as the mix goes well... hold on to your sox! If you do happen to notice a mushroom cloud coming from Florida USofA, don't worry, it's only RR... :salute: |

Ahio,
I arrived in 1945 and am surprised that the escort vehicles can locate and attack me immediately if my sonarmann does not even find the ship. The Wabo attack is something of unerring. Delightfully. no matter in what depth. The sinking speed of a Wabo is about 4.4 m / s on average. What speed do the Wabo's have in the game? greeting |

Like the old joke about the guy who went to the Doctor complaining about every time he raised his arm, it hurt. The Doctor told him if his arm hurt every time he raised his arm...…."Don't do that!!" |

You do know that the Horizon is only 12 miles away if you're standing 100 feet above sea level?! Standing on the deck of a surfaced sub might be 15 feet above sea level. The horizon is less than 5 miles away at that height!! The game models a ship at further distances, but you should find that you're seeing only the top portion of the ship, the bottom is hidden below the horizon. The fact you can see a ship at 10 miles, in good weather, is appropriate, and very accurate. The world is not flat, it has a curve in it. You can't see what's on the surface unless you rise above it! |

I never alt-tab the game (knowing it can go wacky after) If i’m Alone with this issue, it’s just an other computer oddity on my side :haha: (But same radar animation working fine in Ralles makes me wondering...) ÉDIT: after writing those lines, started a Purpoise class career for test in 1943/Midway... and radar animation is working fine now!! Go figure... |

@ the team: Don’t forget to correct the Porpoise Class wich actually gives sonar contact lines + speech with the deck hydrophone equipment (before 42) :03: |

The Sonar is considered "Active" because you actually have to do something to make it work (send out a "ping" and wait on it to return, if it strikes something) as compared to the Hydrophones. The Sonar "Sending/Receiving Head" is on the bottom of the hull from the start of the war on all subs. Sonar is capable of being used by your Sonarman and its what shows on the Navigation Map, or what is described in the Message Text Box when the Sonarman states "Ship detected bearing xyz". He's using Sonar. For the most part, think of the Hydrophone as the players device to detect surrounding ships. Think of Sonar as the players crew way of detecting ships. |
