I have a question I keep on forgetting.

NFL or American Football is the most popular sport in USA overall.

No question there.

The question is:

Why is the season so short ?

From Oct-Jan.

Only four month.

Wear and tear on the players for one thing. Same reason they only have one game a week whereas the other big three American sports, Baseball, Basketball and Hockey will have several.

An argument can and has been made that hockey is almost as punishing as football. Especially when they have 84 games, plus a zillion playoffs, and football has at worst 20.

But it also comes down to marketing. High school football is mostly firday nights, college is Saturday, and pro is Sunday. They added Monday and Thursday nights as time went on, but having all your football on one day makes it an event every week. This just drives up the mania surrounding each game, and gives the pundits time to discuss the inane aspects of the game over the week.

@August. Way to beat the cheezewhiz outta those cheezeheadz!:Kaleun_Salute::Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:
Skol. Okay, it was only the Lions.

I'm surprized Chucky still has a job. They are like scoring next to nothing.

The Dallas Cowboys had it made in the first quarter with two fumbles by Titans and then everything went south.

Tennessee safety Kevin Byard picked off a Prescott pass in the end zone and the Titans never looked back on the way to a 28-14 victory on Monday Night Football at AT&T Stadium.

That didn't take long. I'll coach da rayderz for a paltry 1 millon.

Yes! I woke up for the last quarter with the game tied 20 to 20 ...

49ers kicked a filed goal making it 23 to 20

Then Eli Manning was able to throw a touch down pass with only 51 seconds left to win the game 27 to 23

If Eli can manage to run the last 7 games (never been done in the history of NFL football) he might be able to keep his job :yep:

Did you hear about the coach of the Cleveland Browns that just got fired?
Cincinnati just hired him back as a coach. I think he use to be their head coach... so nice of them, uh?

Here's a shocker and one I am looking forward to the Rams and KC meet next Monday night on ESPN's Monday Night Football.
The game is suppose to be played in Mexico (in Mexico City), but the field is in such bad shape they might move the game to LA.

Much to the dismay of many Los Angeles Rams’fans, it seems as though each year’s schedule includes a “home” game that winds up somewhere far, far from California. And that is once again the case in Week 11 of the 2018 season as the Rams play “host” to the Kansas City Chiefs at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca.

It's officially moved to L.A. now.

Given the number of stadiums in Mexico, I'd would have thought there might have been another suitable field somewhere...... I mean a lot of fans from there have bought tickets and such. So much for outreach to the fan base....

To be honest I'm not watching so much NFL anymore.
(And NHL)
The main reason is all those commercial breaks.

I've stopped counting how many there are during a quarter.

Secondly when I do watch a game I do it with no sound.
I only activate sound when a Yellow flag have been raised to hear why.

Me too Markus ... I watch with the sound down to just crowd noise. Some of those commentators don't know what they are talking about and just talk to be talking.
Sometimes I put the remote on hold and fast fwd 30 seconds at a time to the game play by play too.

Thursday Night Football

8:20PM ET Green Bay Packers AT Seattle Seahawks

Both teams have to win ... remember the play off game between these two several years ago with
Seattle taking away a Packers touchdown in the end zone with a controversial take over of the pass?

nikimcbee 11-17-18 08:07 PM

Poor cheezheadz. Probably too high from second-hand pot smoke to play.
