Riding the bike! Here is a project I completed and will be riding this weekend. It is a Schwinn Cruiser Supreme. Manufactured 1997. It sat getting rusty in my coworkers shed. He did not want it. I turned the derelict into a beach cruiser. :D

So do I. That is one reason I got them. The bike is a retro to the 50-60's bikes as seen here in the USA way back when. I plan on some wheel fenders and chrome bookrack to finish it off.

I did get a new seat that has a retro 50's look. Chrome bumper type thing. I was going for this look:

Never seen that model in the UK so I'm wondering if it was only manufactured in the USA?

Schwinn is US built. Now built in China! My frame was built in China!! Go figure.... The bikes of the 1950's and 60's had the balloon white wall tires. Book rack and fenders. A lot of chrome. Just like the cars of the time.

Jimbuna 07-01-11 02:07 PM

Rgr that.

Is there anything that isn't made in China these days?

Being this is July 4th weekend?
I think I'll PM or E-mail all my British Friends and remind them of thier
greatest defeat.
Or our greatest screwup depending on how you view things.
:har:

LOL...doubt we could afford the upkeep of a second Parliament building these days :DL

Betonov 07-03-11 02:41 AM

I'll jump on a local hill today. About 1300m above sea level. I'll post any good photos in the photography thread

So much about best laid plans of mice and men. My fammily managed to ruin yet another day for me

Feuer Frei! 07-03-11 05:17 AM

Re-installed Diablo 2 + LOD 1.13C and as i'm typing this my Druid is kickin' the proverbial!
That's been my weekend so far. And will be, with less than 4 hrs to go.

Jimbuna 07-03-11 05:41 AM

Finishing the graft at noon (GMT) then off to the local garden centre with Mrs Buna and a pleasant afternoon watching the 3rd England ODI (Cricket).

In the evening a pleasant steak and a few bottles of Magners Cider to welcome in the fortnights annual leave that commences tomorrow.

This weekend, being one of the few three day weekends my company gives me, I think, for the novelty of it, that I will spend it working on my frickin dissertation! :stare:

Like I do with every single weekend. :damn::damn::damn:

Friends don't let friends get PhDs. :yep:

(ah, I feel better now) Time to get back to work. :D
