iowa, if you go to the S3D page, then look at "docs" there are explanations of how to import and export 3df models.

AI Modern Ships
 
I´ve started work on an Modern AI Ships MOD. So far I managed to make my Sovremenny Class destroyer(beta) a comouter vessel, and I have replaced the Stndert US torpedo Bombers with SU-33 Flankers.http://a.imageshack.us/img836/42/956missile.pnghttp://a.imageshack.us/img175/1825/su332.png

I´ve made them a new node within the shells.dat and assigned a torpedo-trail as particel generator and the "plane burning" effect as regular trail in shells.sim. they are fired from a launcher-cannon, which you can see on the mid-ship. I hope to find a way to force the dumb in-game AI to use it, when its not fully moveable so i can make it more static to look more "real". keltos, do you know a way to increase the speed of air-torpedoes. I`ve rebuild the mk13 to look like a missile for the Su33 and set the speed to 500 knots, but they still cruise at 42 knots standard speed.CU

Not sure this helps but the ohio mod has missiles and they go very fast, maybe you could check those settings.

Just started work on the Kongo and Atago. As of now I will only make them ai ships. May include playable if requested so. I have also finished the Flight III Arleigh Burke. Will post pictures when the ships are ingame.
