OMG I knew I didn't imagine that! And now it's confirmed by a German-speaker. I really thought I had to be misreading the text or missing something in the translation. Sadly, no. |
Looks great, cant wait. :woot:

...fits better in an DRM thread.
But... it's the feeling 90% of sh5 forum. ;) |

So we have the Torpedoman who likes to stick his fist into things, a cook who talks like a hooker and a Bosun who'd rather be a Lumberjack.... err... Poet like his great Grandfather Heinrich Heine (who never had Children, btw.) Either this is a WW2-Remake of "Queer as Folk" or it's a case of WUI (writing under influence). Could somebody please explain all this to me? My hovercraft is full of eels. |
someone has definately been spending way too many long nights working on this game.
if i see hanz in a speedo i want a refund :o jk im not buying it with DRM anyway |

Well, with every movie and picture I see from Sh5 I think "What have they done to this once great simulation"..... I'm feeling sad |

I'm afraid I'll have to defer my decision on this issue until I can examine the alleged offense from all the available angles. |

Well, besides all of the other stuff mentioned in this thread, did anyone notice that he was sitting at periscope depth, taking his sweet time to line up a shot on one of two DD's that were a cable length away and pinging him!!!??? I sure the hell hope that was on the lowest difficulty setting possible.
Pinging means hide, run if you can silently, however you do it, get away now! It does NOT and should NEVER mean pop up and have a peek for a shot! |

Why the hell did they show that? To show people there was something worse than OSP. :hmmm: |

It’s astounding
That’s about the breadth of my observation of this otherwise fairly innocuous video, nothing new to see, no new opinions to be formed. It’s nice to see the nuts and bolts brigade arguing about angles of lighting or the size of the rivets or the correct shade of grey use on the hull ….etc
But for the rest of us there's little or nothing to excite any one with even the slightest interest in game-play, realistic portrayal of the period or historical accuracy - though admittedly lots to satisfy the more visually inclined And - As usual - no public mention - or discussion of the DRM at least not in connection with the game- the single thing that’s liable to make or break this game as a commercial success. And as usual our Johnny on the spot, Mr. Microphone himself, despite his boyish charm and copious application of hair gel, he fails to mention it. Does he ever ask any useful questions? Perhaps he's so generic the publishers wouldn’t want to trouble his pretty head with an idea or concept larger than his microphone. RPG fans will love it, those with reasonably stable internet will probably be able to play it..... most of the time - As for those who've followed the series since the first, or those of us with a real interest in things submerged and Naval as usual it’s ‘Up Yo_ r's’ …..Perhaps I’m a little hasty lets just say - we'll have to wait and see. One thing that always amazes me, Ubisoft are absolutely aware of SubSim and its members therein - So why is it the one single thing that's missing, the big fat, steaming, sweating Elephant in the room here…..Why is it that not one person from SubSim has ever been given an opportunity to pose any questions, or make any comment on any of these videos - and all this despite SubSim being the single largest group of potential customers It’s astounding R Quote:

Hello Im New Here. However im not new to the series,
been playing the game since the 2nd, Im glad to see that SH series is still alive to see that UBI is actually trying to keep it going. I do understand the reasoning for giving a game a more RPG style, so it will be more acceptable to a general puplic who never even had a thought before of a submarine game before. But im afraid it is going to kill the series, Just like it seems to have happened with IL2 series and its not even on PC anymore. On a sidenote i think that water looks a bit too fake i live right by the water and it don't behave such way. In the game the water seems a bit too light like it is not even being pulled by gravity. PS; i hate this tought with this DRM idea, it seem that UBI is trying to do a good thing (slow Piracy:arrgh!:) in a realy bad way (Killing the ganre so there is nothing left to pirate :damn:). Why cant they have lets say 12 hours of Accumilated gameplay with this DRM BS, and then the dame is fully activated and no more need to stay online 24/7 think that many will do that, and get the game, and it still prevents Piracy. and this savegame with UBI will not be needed, on averege on terabite server costs 150 K USD, how many will they need if you have 10 mil people saving 2 savegames? |

EDIT: Oh and welcome ;) |
Right, Karamazov!
Ubi is using us and the (I can't remember name ) other game as testing ground. So we are no more than guinea pigs for them. But if we stand firm, with our wallets tightly shut, they will reach the right conclusion. Moo :salute: |

If Im excited about the game, Im allowed to be. How old are you acting like this? Leave me be and let me be excited about the damn game. God this board sucks. Are there any mods here to stop these guys from ruining everyone elses party. You guys are in every thread crying about DRM, thats fine, but leave the rest of us be now. Im getting excited for the game now, you dont have to comment to me every time I express it. |
Trenken, shouldn't you reply to this post?
