Sooooo, im guessing this prodject is dead.:-? I hope not.

i would gladly take it (if i'm given permission and reach the lvl of skill required, i've been searching for moding tools and stuff).

kenijaru, Racerboy has always given permission to use any of his mods for creating new mods or improving upon the mods he has already released. His only condition is to give him credit for anything you use.

If you had read the first few posts in this thread, Racerboy actually expected the community to pitch in to complete this mod. Nobody stepped up so it seems RB has given up on us.

As for modding tools, S3D is a good place to start. RB preferred using a hex editor to mod the raw code but Silent 3ditor can do quite a lot without requiring knowledge of Assembly programming. It's as close to an actual SDK as we're ever likely to have for SH3 and SH4.

A decent graphics app is a must for creating textures and you'll need a 3D modeler for altering or creating models for the game.

So, by all means, get to work and see what you can do!

sweet, I'll get my hands on it ASAP.
too bad they don't teach us that on my career (I'm studying to be a game developer :yep:, but apparently C++, Java(or J++) and flash is as far as the teachers are willing to go).

I'm confident that Photoshop CS3 will get the job done, right?
(plus wings3d for models)

Graf Paper 11-05-08 02:41 AM

Seems like you're all set to begin, kenijaru!

I suppose that little app from Adobe is up to the task but it's no MS Paint. :p

Wings3D is a favorite here for those who can't or won't pay for the application used by the Ubi SH3 devs, 3DSMax.

Blender 3D is another free choice and has far more features than Wings 3D. It's comparable to Maya, mainly tuned toward animation, but it also renders static models very well. Too many plug-ins to list here.

Good luck on your prospective SH3 modding career! You will become part of that rare breed who brings us all a better gaming experience. :|\\

Your reward will be whining, moaning, nit-picking, and endless opinions on how it could be better.

But you'll also have many that will appreciate your work and encourage you for more, if you can put up with the rest.

Looking forward to your first official release!
