I wish we had the La-7 to use, its my best aircraft. I'm trying to get the hang of the 109, but it feels like its fighting me on turns compared to the silky smoothness of the La-7.
Anyone here good with the 109 want to give me some advice on how to use this brick properly:hmm:? |

There is some pretty good info on 109 strategy --> HERE <-- along with some more basic stuff.
From what I've read, it seems like you're trying to "Turn and Burn" in a "Boom and Zoom" fighter. Here's a quote from that guide that explains "Boom and Zoom" Quote:

Hunter keeps reminding me of the boom&zoom tactic everytime I rant. So, I give you my usual answer, no, not feck off, but one cant always decide the situation. For the last time, I KNOW THE FECKING BLANE IS AN E-FIGHTER!!! AAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :damn: :damn: :p PS. And everybody keeps telling how great B&Z is "just dive in and climb". Well, a Spit that has flown uninterrupted level flight has the speed of ~400+ km/h, enough E to climb and to get me in his sights and unleash a short burts, which ALWAYS in my case either cuts my wing or the tail. PPS. Oh yeh, and I think I found my problem. This fecking joystick. As Hunter knows, the rudder twist is a bit messed on my joystick, so I put some deadband from the settings and now when I turn, my rudder wont turn as much as it used to, resulting in 90% of cases to a stall. PPPS. Thanks for the link! :) |
Them 2 always fighting when on teamspeak and WOE. I thought you 2 where friends and now its a war between a ferret and a skilled pilot who is a wise a** sometimes to the ferret.

I found another B&Z guide --> HERE <-- that goes into quite a bit more detail on how to "Dive in and climb" without getting peppered by bullets on the way back up. It's not specific to Il-2, but four pages of tactics never hurt anyone (except the other team).
