Just called the EB games in Castle Rock Colorado....they have it in stock. I just reserved a copy and will pick it up on the way home.

Only hope it will run on Vista....:hmm:

Got it at noon Central Standard Time today. I'd been phoning around since tuesday, places like Best Buy, GameStop, CompUSA, Microcenter, and EB Games. EB Games had one copy come in today and I probably snagged it because I was home on spring break:know:

The game is not on very many stores' radar screens. Calls usually went something like "Hi, I'm looking for a new PC game. . ." and the guys right away guesses "Stalker?"

We have two weeks of spring break, so I've laid in a case of Ramen and I'm headed for the Sea of Japan. . .

Good to here from you Meerkat. Not many of us landlocked folks.

The box says Vista is supported.

I just picked up my reserved copy from GameStop across from NE Mall, 8515 Airport Frwy, North Richland Hills, TX 76180 - 817.498.8184. They had 3 or 4 extra copies. What's weird is that when I got home my super collector's edition had arrived from UBI\UK!

First impressions

Game runs slowly on my AMD-64 based system with 2 GB of memory and a NVIDIA FX-5700 with 256MB. Loads quickly. Mouse get's sluggish and click response lags...

A lot of controls seem cumbersome... Don't know if it's the getting used to it or what.. Seems they reinvented the wheel a lot and it shows for this old gamer keeps clicking on the left side to bring out the controls and of course there not there.

A lttle dissapointed thus far... Salvation coming with updateing patches and coordinative fixes to bring this game in line with SHIII / GWX... The other thing is that we can expect a lot of imrovements with modder add ons.

The radar screen seems a real waste... Missing sweep, and small...

Overall it's good but I havn't formed a final opinion yet.... I just feels incomplete.... More in a week or so..

Installing right now on Vista...so far so good...
The EBGames in Castle rock only had ONE copy.

I may start a Vista thread if there any issues.

EB Games in the DC area have it but it depends on which store you go to. For some reason, it hasn't arrived as of Thursday night in several of them even though it was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. I was able to pick up a copy from the Montgomery Mall in Bethesda.

Don't forget the patch before you get too far along!!

Sorry, nhall, I was hoping they would! But somehow UPS actually got it right and delivered it to me at 6:30pm this evening :D Will miracles never cease?

I was wondering for a while there, got another "exception" at 5:22am this morning, "A flight delay occurred due to mechanical problems". Great. Figured the pilot must have had his thumb stuck somewhere it's got no right being and it took a while to get it dislodged ;)

Then guess what, at 5:47 am it was scanned in at my regional hub. Out for Delivery at 8:00 am. By 6:00 I was about to give up getting it tonite (UPS always delivers between 1:00 - 2:30 to my address) so I about had a heart attack when "Brown" arrived ;)

Jury's still out on my purchase. Only messed around 30 minutes or so and frankly the graphics suck the big green weenie. At the same time they're also totally awesome. If UBI would have given us true hi-rez support (I'm running it at 1600x1200 on my 20.1" LCD) the graphics would have been fantastic! But right now I feel like I'm playing in Lego-Land. Hope the devs or the modders can address this like with SH3.

If not, then if the gameplay is as good as I hope it will be, maybe just maybe I can overlook the Lego blocks ;)

That is waaay to far for me to drive to, I live in NE Dallas near Garland. I am very patient. But it can only go so far.

Just to add that is some 36 miles from my house.:o

I got mine at Gamestop this morning. It has an extra dvd movie inside too.

I called the EB Games near my work and they had just put their ONE copy of the game on the shelf. 15 minutes later, it was mine.

I pre-ordered mine from WalMart about two weeks ago, got an e-mail tonight (22 Mar 07, 2130 CST) that it's been shipped.

Drove to Best Buy....none there. Drove to Gamespot, looked and no joy. Asked the clerk if it was in the back room, he said nope that he had sold the only copy that they had 5 minutes earlier. He called the only other gamespot in town and they had one....did I want him to hold it for me? Buddy, you do that and I'll name my kid after ya! So I drove over and got it. Makes me wonder who bought the other one in this small town I live in.

I just picked up a copy at EB Games here in Flowood, MS. Frankly, I was astonished they had it; they don't do much PC games anymore, mostly console....

Canceled my Amazon order and picked up the last copy at EB Games near where I work. Only played a couple of the school lessons so far.

I picked up Silent Hunter 4 Today. I didn't get the Super Deluxe Edition, although the one I got has bonus materials. Included is a bonus DVD a really sharp map, recognition chart, a real paperback manual & a keyboard chart. I'm very happy with my purchase.
I bought it at my local Gamestop here in Massapequa Long Island. As soon as I finish doing whatever my Wife has in store for me I'm installing & playing.

I got mine at the EB games at Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro, Mass. I haven't played it yet, need to upgrade my memory first. It seems 512mb is not enough...:yep::D
