No no no, they fly around Uranus looking for Klingons. :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Btw: Where did all those StarTrek Captions/ Images, in this thread and several others, come from?

3Jane 11-12-07 05:58 PM

Just odd random images I pick up from the net and store in a folder for this kind of thing. A lot of them appear on image boards.

Go Kirk!!!

Friedmann 11-13-07 08:38 AM

Picard is the best closely followed by Sisko.

Not having Sisko on the list is a crime.

Dowly 11-13-07 08:45 AM

John Sheridan!

Oh wait... that was from the better scifi show! :rotfl::p

Tachyon 11-15-07 08:44 AM

Yeah , Babylon 5 was a lot better IMO, storyline wise.

Anyway, back on topic :

Here are my favourites,

1)Kirk
2)Picard
3)Sisko

Janeway & Archer don't really count imo , Archer especially.

A little off topic here, but did anyone play Star Trek : Legacy with the Ultimate Universe Mod ? Now the game is almost what it was originally advertised to be.

If you listen to the script the number of 'transvayleon fluctuations in the high EM band' stuff is just excessive next to TNG or DS9.

My favourite TNG epi is the one where Picard has his mind taken control of by an alien probe and he lives the life of another man from a long dead civilization in less than an hour. Another one is about him meeting and getting taken to a planet by that race that speak in metaphors and he tells the story of Gilgamesh and bonds with the man. Or when Picard gets tortured and the psychology of it comes out. Or Sarek is losing his mind and uses Picard as a mental crutch to complete a diplomatic mission but as a result Picard has to suffer the burden of Sarek's wild emotions. Then theres the non-stop story of Data's search for humanity.

Thats ALOT of human condition stuff off the top of my head. DS9 was the one that focused more on persistent storyline but still did human condition stuff. Voyager did some too but was most hevy on the technical jargon. Sometimes it made me embarassed to watch when they explained how simple it was in weird invented terms.

You want believable science justifications watch Stargate SG-1. They actually use existing string theory for most of their stuff.

Agree 100%, the story about Picard living another life was one of the best episodes in my opinion. The one with Picard getting tortured was superb as well.

Unless you want to be really geeky, in which case, this guy is definitely the first commander of the Enterprise (OV-101):

That is, unless you include CVN-65...

now there's a real Captain :)

Although on-topic I voted for Picard as I see him as a sane captain and someone I might not die serving :p .
Boring as tripe though

lol better late than never (perhaps?)
has to be Kirk of course BUT "Kill 'em all" Janeway (as oppose to "hmm ..that's interesting" Sisko or "if i stand here long enough something will happen" Picard)
has to be the closest to Kirk in her utterly insane decisions regarding the prime directive (and it's ilk)#
a fairly good example of this is when Voyager discovers the million year old collosal antena array...(a truly ancient artifact of a alien culture that is spread across an entire section of the universe.)..and destroys it just so she can evade two persueing ships..pure Kirk....in fact remember that Original series episode when kirk and an ex girlfriend swop bodys?.....reckon janeway IS Kirk LOL:hmm:

The WosMan 11-29-07 10:45 PM

HAHAHA, that one was a great episode, have it somewhere on VHS from when I originally taped it years ago........"IT'S A FFFFFAAAAAAKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
