Rest in peace - Cpt. Alford.

...Rest in peace and fair winds...
|
THE SAILOR'S 23RD PSALM The Lord is my pilot, I shall not go adrift; He lighteth my passage across dark channels; He steereth me through the deep waters, He keepeth my log. He guideth me by the evening star for my safety's sake. Yea, though I sail mid the thunders and tempests of life, I shall fear no peril, for Thou art with me, Thy stars and heavens, they comfort me. The vastness of thy sea upholds me. Surely fair winds and safe harbors shall be found All the days of my life; And I shall moor, fast and secure, forever. Amen. |
My best wishes for his well deserved rest
and for comfort to his friends and famaliy until the they (as we all will somday) join him in Peace. |
Salutes to Capt Zeb Alford, it men like him that we all wish we had had as a CO.

Colonel David Marcus was killed in battle during the Israeli War in June 1948. In his wallet was found a card that spoke of death. It read: "I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. "She is an object of beauty and strength. And I stand and watch her, until at length she is only a ribbon of white cloud just where the sky and sea come to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, 'There! She's gone!' "Gone where? Gone from my sight--that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of living freight--to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. "And just at the moment When someone at my side says, 'There! She's gone!' there are other voices ready to take up the glad shout, 'There! She comes!' And that is dying." 2Mc 7:1-2 9-14; Lk 20:27-38 |

It is a sad day when a man of the "greatest generation" leaves us.
I been afk for awhile and I am saddened to hear this news. My condolences to Zebs family. You can take solace in knowing Zeb is in a better place, laughing and joking with his friends, and brothers in arms who left this world before him.
He will always be remembered. A toast from one warrior to another! :()1: |
Sincere condolences from "across the Pond" to Capt. Zeb's family & friends.
There are so many of our military greats passing over lately. Let us all hope and pray that their knowledge, experience, and understanding does not pass with them. The "Paradise Fleet" has a new recruit. Fair winds and calm seas, Captain Zeb. |
R.I.P Sir.

My condolences to the Family and his friends.
God Speed! :salute: |
