:rotfl: That is some funny stuff right there :rotfl:

Wulfmann, please stop arguing your point on here. I tried to play that game with Skybird in the tanksim.com forum and got sent to the 'time-out' chair for a few days. I was wrong in the end and I know that now. Maybe you should end your argument here and now since you've already made your point once, twice, umpteen million times already. We don't need to hear anymore on this. Seems like you drew a weak hand on this topic and everyone else has a full house, that's just too bad. However the same should go to all those against Wulfmann for his beliefs - stop baiting him on! I personally think this topic needs to be closed once and for all since no good ever comes from it! John Channing where are you! This topic is becoming a war zone I fear!

jasonb885 03-21-06 07:34 PM

My bad.

No publicity is bad publicity. This is actually selfdefeatist. Out of 100 people that never touch X1, one person will probably go out and buy from them after reading all these threads. A company like X1 only wants that one sale and doesn't care about the rest.

I'm done.

Wulfmann 03-21-06 08:04 PM

SubSerp, I just come on and explain the new version is all original stuff when people suggest or blatantly state it is not.
That is my point.
When anyone makes false and inaccurate statements I feel it is only fair to share what I know about this next add on.
So, do not make these false claims and I won't have to share my actual experiences from playing the beta version.

Sometimes Jason does a little name calling to detract from his weak argument (a sure sign of little evidence) but usually it is just some harmless banter.

Dude, did you miss the entire discussion last year you participated in where it was proved beyond any doubt that SeaWolves was using mods from the community without permission?

Sigh.

Plus someone else whose name starts with Trombke was known for more than a little name-calling in that thread :yep:

As someone who was around for the whole thing, I can tell you that the community here did their research on SeaWolves and made their findings known. All the while Seawolves staff behaved on the forum very badly. This has been looked over and even Neal, looking over the discussion, had to make a statement telling Seawolves to clean up their act.

All this talk lately might suggest that they have, but we need hard facts. Don't make a mistake, their original fault has been proven beyond all doubt. No "name calling" excuse works, because from what I've observed, the Seawolves producers have earned the names given to them by the SHIII modding community, and have yet to do something concrete to redeem themselves.

I'm open to that. But let them go ahead and come clean themselves.

SubSerpent 03-22-06 07:48 AM

I don't frankly care anymore, nor do most of us here. This topic seems to be debated between Jason and Wulfmann and should be argued out in private emails or IM and not in here. The original poster should be smart enough to read into this matter more from previous threads that still include all the arguing and name calling that were posted months ago. All anyone needs to do is point a finger towards one of those old links. All the arguments in here are the same old arguments from before.

Jason, don't waste your time with this guy, he just seems to be here to argue.

Wulfmann, don't waste your time 'defending X1' from Jason or whoever else. I'm not saying you aren't entitled to your 'opinions' but you are arguing on the weak side of this case since most folks that are regulars aren't buying into your claims. We just simply don't care about 'payware mods'.

Enough has been said on this subject, no more needs to be said!!!

Wulfmann 03-22-06 05:43 PM

Sub, you care a lot and so does Jason. The old argument that the opposite of love is hate is not at all true. The opposite of love is indifference.

If you and Jason were not argumentive and constantly flipping out and name calling it is not for lack of interest, it is your infuriation you can not convince me. You simply demand people see things like you.

The funny thing is I don't totally disagree. I keep saying the same thing but you will not listen.
I had nothing to do with the first Seawolves.
I advise and beta test the new, all original Med add on.
When someone says this contains unauthorized mods, I will post to dismiss the false claim.
If you do not want that, do not make these false claims. Saying you don't like these guys (I never ever conferred in any way with one Trombke) and because of the first one you would not support the second one no matter if it is all original is a legitimate position.
Saying the next on has free mods is not.
Don't say it and I won't need to clarify it.
Once it is released you can go through and prove me right!

Wulfmann you constantly repeat your self that you'r Betatesting and Advising them, now how do you know that what you see as BETA realy has been made by them ? Do you know ALL the mods out there that you realy can say Yes the did all them selves ? And with which tools are they do it ? with the Tools the Moders made available ? you see the point is they haven't invented anything but just taken what's available in the scene and now want to make $$ In my eyes that's just ripping of the comunity, they only take what the moders (specialy here) made available with NO giving back.

Does it really matter? They have a history as thieves. Whether or not they have done their own material in a current release won't wash that away. Thus, I think it's pointless to discuss what X1 is doing now, since we already know what kind of company it is.

But I do see your point, since thieves usually are liars as well. I wouldn't trust them either, let alone associate myself with them or their likes.

Wulfmann 03-23-06 11:02 AM

Since some members of the Mod community stole the original X-1 data to "investigate" saying stealing is OK for them, I do not believe that means every mod maker is also a thief.

I can tell you most of the ships I got in the first beta were not available anywhere at all and most still are not available.
Who did they steal them from??
Then when I would suggest something in the model was wrong and they fixed it, who did they steal the fix from?
Many effects I have seen for months were not available anywhere. I wonder if seeing screen shots of them from X-1 others could guess what they did and copied it?
One suggested the Mob36 DD and US carrier might be their work. I have their mod and I have X-1's. They are not the same files, dates or even file sizes and X-1 had them before they were released in the Mod community.
Well, stating that got an apology? No, the mod community has the right to make false claims because they do not profit so that makes it OK.

Some (most in the mod community are dedicated honest people) sound like Jesse Jackson or Swaggert who feel they have a right that others do not.

If you feel because of the conduct of the first Seawolves you can not support the next project, I understand completely.
But, when you support stealing and lying for the mod community as justified, I can not and will not accept that.
If someone questions a mod in Seawolves and it is shown that they did their own work, they deserve an apology.

How do I know that a mod in Seawolves is really their work when that mod is not available anywhere at all??? How stupid a question is that?

You are making false and misleading claims about the first SeaWolves mod.

I can't let that go.

You can say all you want about the new mod, I don't care.

But lying about the original theft of mods is simply wrong.

End of post.

I agree. If a mod maker gets his material stolen, he should immediately send his money to the thieves by buying their product. That's the decent thing to do.

Oh, they didn't steal everything? There was actually some non-stolen material included? Well, that makes everything alright then. Sorry for bothering you.

Where have I heard that lingo before??
Hmmmmmmmm?
