'Spiderwoman' Miroslaw wins speed climbing gold

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics...s/cly8zw4zzrzo

If only I was in my 20's again eh, nah, I'm not talking about Aleksandra you perverts, I'm talking about that speed climbing event.
I would have been in my element with a sport like that, you never know, I could have become a notorious cat burglar as well. When I was a young'un I had Rugby Union, Cricket, Horse Riding or Eventing force fed down my throat on a weekly basis, I hated my bloody childhood.

Caster Semenya hits out at Olympic chiefs over ‘inconsistent’ gender rules

Quote:

Caster Semenya has hit out at gender rule inconsistencies at the Olympics as she waded in to the row over the two boxers who allegedly failed sex tests.

Semenya, who has differences in sex development (DSD), controversially won Olympic gold in the women’s 800 metres at both 2012 and 2016.

But if she were competing in the same event now she would need to lower her testosterone levels under rules brought in by World Athletics.

Speaking out for the first time about the row engulfing Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting, Semenya suggested the International Olympic Committee should take some blame. “What happened at the Olympics now is not what happened in my space,” Semenya said, in reference to the IOC effectively accepting Khelif and Lin because it states ‘woman’ on their passports. “Each organisation has its own policy – boxing have their own and athletics has its own.”

The inclusion of DSD athletes like Semenya as well as transgender athletes at previous Olympics has been one of the most contentious issues the IOC has dealt with in the modern era.

The IOC now says ultimately it is up to individual sports to decide their rules based on “robust and peer-reviewed science” with competitors excluded when research “demonstrates a consistent, unfair and disproportionate competitive advantage and/or an unpreventable risk to the safety of the athletes”.

Semenya suggests the current row in boxing suggests a one-size-fits-all rule would be a better fit for the Games. She suggested she could relate to Algerian Khelif, who is now guaranteed a medal in Paris.

“Imane is a great boxer and people always criticise when someone is doing well, people always talk then,” Semenya told Sportsboom.com. “When she wasn’t winning, then everyone was quiet. But the IOC’s policy and constitution should not contradict each other. Sport is for all people and the constitution says no to discrimination. But the minute they allowed women to be disgraced, it confuses us.

“If sport is for all, then why does the big governing body allow this sort of thing to happen? They should stand their ground and lead by example. It’s about quality leadership that safeguards, protects and respects women.”

Caster Semenya should STFU, when it looks like a man, runs like a man and has the muscle structure of a man, then he is a man, but, not according to the brown envelope gang of the IOC Committee, he's a woman. :haha:

Genetics, hormonal balances, metabolic variables are what decides it for me. The hardware, not the software. Anyone can dress up for carnival.

Rio Olympics, all three of these are classed as DSD women by the IOC, and all of them won a medal in the 800 metres, if I didn't know who they were I'd be asking what men's event were they in.
Cheats are cheats and they'll always be known as cheats.

Disorders of sexual development are conditions where a person's reproductive organs and genitals are “mismatched” at birth. Examples include male chromosomes (XY) and genitalia that appears female (vulva) or female chromosomes (XX) and genitalia that appears male (penis).

China arrests woman suspected of 'defaming' Olympic table tennis players

Quote:

BEIJING (Reuters) - Beijing police have arrested a woman suspected of posting defamatory comments on social media about Chinese athletes and coaches following the table tennis women's singles final at the Paris Olympics, the police said.

The suspect, a 29-year-old surnamed He, "maliciously fabricated information and blatantly defamed others, resulting in an adverse impact on society", the police at Daxing district said in a statement late on Tuesday.

The case was being investigated, the police said, although specific details about the defamatory comments were not disclosed.

In the Aug. 3 match, China's defending champion Chen Meng defeated teammate Sun Yingsha, also world No.1, 4-2, in a replay of their previous encounter in Tokyo three years ago.
Throughout the game, there were audible cheers for Sun and boos directed at Chen whenever she scored, according to a broadcast of the event.

After the game, many people took to social media to criticise the crowd's behaviour.

"If this kind of fan culture is allowed to permeate in sports, it can ultimately undermine even the most talented athletes, like Sun Yingsha," a user on Weibo said.

Weibo, China's popular X-like microblogging site, said it had deleted over 12,000 posts and banned more than 300 accounts over what it called "illegal" comments.

Many people also took to social media to express their joy and national pride after Chinese swimmer Pan Zhanle smashed his own 100 metres freestyle world record, even as China was plunged backed into the doping spotlight after media reports that two swimmers in 2022 had tested positive for a banned steroid.

In 1992, newly united Germany still won 82 medals, including 33 gold. The 'GDR effect' was still visible in good Olympic results in the 1990s, but has since worn off.

"GDR effect" can easily be translated to "systematic use of performance enhancing drugs". Also Germany had 463 athletes competing in 26 sports in 1992, compared to 428 in 30 sports in 2024.
And of course it's also one of the long-anticipated consequences of the massive dominance of soccer: most other sports suffer from a lack of young talents as well as a lack of funding.

China Blames Others as Doping Scandal Hits Paris Olympics

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/othe...&ei=7#image=12

These Chinese cheats have been using performance enhancing drugs for years, they were caught out at the Japanese Olympics in 2021, but they gave the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) a load of brown envelopes to disregard those test results.
I think they've come up with a substance that is undetectable, or they've tested this new drug so much that they know when they should stop giving it to the athletes, they've compromised the integrity of the WADA officials so much that an independent body should investigate these corrupt members and criminal charges should be brought against them.

WADA has just like the WHO (world health organization) become the paid property of China, I would put these Chinese cheats on the same par as the East German cheats of the 1970s and 80s.
