Note when you send a radio message, it is now ALSO copied to the clipboard, meaning that you can also post it to a forum, allowing you to use your flotilla captain for the RTE and flotilla, even via a forum.

You will not see you own messages (obviously)...although you can cheat that by posting to RTE and then setting your option to 'just receive'.

Understood !

OOH! I see U-46 is off to AL36!

I hereby award Fahnenbohn the first radio message sent medal

Fahnenbohn 10-05-15 11:14 AM

Yeah ! I've been able to send a message... and received it !

I have a suggestion : before sending a message, could we choose the message type ( 0 = transmit once , 1 = transmit until received ), and the end of transmission if transmitted until received ?

F.

Note : Sorry for the uncorrect name "Radio test" (this is my career's name).

I will add it as an option in Version 3, - make that version 4!

ExFishermanBob 10-06-15 04:07 AM

Version 3 released - corrects some values not being transferred (thanks for the testing).

It seems that I'm the only tester until now, since I don't see any messages from other U-Boots. :-?

This would be nice that you send your DEF career messages through RTE. Thus, I could download them.

:salute:

I will be posting soon enough - I had to start a new flotilla career (my previous chap had a terminal encounter with a number of biplanes).

Others have reported not understanding the tool, so once again, my design skills (sic) have failed me.

ExFishermanBob 10-09-15 09:42 AM

Well, 1st February onwards.

that is what i intend to do, as also testing insertion of BdU-DEF messages into my career, with previous version i have probe it but doing it manually. I mean i convert the BdU-DEF message into SH3 messages format and then put it inside messages.en with notepad.

cheers

You shouldn't have to do it manually, other than the cut and paste - you can edit the pasted message until it extracts correctly, adding times and so on. The the tool will write it for you.

So, paste, edit, extract (edit again if necessary), convert, write to file.

The idea is that a flotilla would communicate directly through the tool, but the cut and paste is used as, at the moment, forums (forae, fori?) are used.

You can change the preferences without losing information. So, when you want to send, use "I want to upload...." etc., but if you need to cut/paste BdU, select "I am a member of a flotilla ..." with the "Basic Flotilla Templates" "I want to copy and paste BdU..." option ticked.

What date are you in-game? I'm in Feb 1940 - you will obviously only see messages if you are surfaced at the appropriate time and date. I had wondered about an option to modify the received date for RTE messages (for a player) to always be entered a day or so ahead, but I'm not sure about that. I suppose if it's an option, one need not enable it.

:hmmm:

Ah, pleased to read you, Captain Karl Palis ! I wish you a good patrol.

:salute: F.
