Refusing to release records from years ago because your political enemies are looking to make hay with anything they find in them is not a crime or even controversial. If Mitt Romney had said "screw you, my taxes are my business." I wouldn't have batted an eye. It was a spun up issue that was absolutely retarded - of course any sane person with access to accountants and tax shelters is going to make use of them to minimize their tax burden. You'd be a fool to do otherwise. That's why TurboTax and H.R. Block and every other tax preparer advertises that they can find you the most deductions and get your tax bill down lower.
