I can't play the game without those numbers.

Those are limitations on the value of the TC in game..

The first one is regular, the second value is with Travel mode on

Without these settings your liable to get attacked and sunk in TC without even realizing it, or come out of TC RIGHT in the middle of a convoy.

LandProximity=1,32

If you come close to land it goes automatically to 1x tc, or real time. Then it restricts you from going past 32x tc until you move away from the land mass.

Same with the others.

I thought that you could go past the max setting (example above is 32x) if you click on the travel mode button. (isn't this correct?)

no ..it is like drewcifer said... first number is the max tc value when you are close to the land and the secon position (32) is the max tc value wfter you choose travel mode when you are close to land... same rule all over the place

Drewcifer 03-03-11 09:15 PM

Notice at the bottom, Maximum=256,32, What this means is with travel mode OFF, you can move at a max of 256 TC.. with Travel Mode ON you can move at a max of 32 TC.

However once you enter once of the special conditions, LandProximity=1,32 for instance TC drops to realtime, OR in the case of travel mode, it doesn't change at all but maintains 32.

yes..it is like you supouse... if you run in tc normal then when you enter in land proximity tc drop to 1..if you are in travel mode is supouse to remain at 32... but sober play with tc1onanyboxmessage also

The great thing about those setting is you can change them to whatever you want though. Max past 256, or Travel Mode speeds faster.

It just so happens that I prefer them the way Sober has them. To much TC can ruin your game, messing up the AI, or well just random bad stuff happens. and I personally play with the tc on message box off.

I'm captain, I've got better things to do, if its important tell me, but don't bother me on every little detail. lol.

tc on message box on is good for me because when i run at tc 256 for example it could happend that i have some imp messages like smoke on the horizon or covoy reported by bdu...etc and my tc drop at 1... give me time to react in proper time to choose my next move.. the other messages like battery full recharged and so on not apear to often to botter me

EnemyDetected=1,32, works just fine, once clear of port I switch of Travel mode and move out at 256. Any sign of an enemy vessel and the alarm is sounded, and the lazy captain is woke up! lol.

I tcon message is useful, but it stops my tc to often for my personal taste, but again this is a highly customizable game! For the purpose of his FIRST lets play though I think playing without a good set of TC settings, like Sobers is a sure way to bring about an early end to his lets play. lol.

Just finished recording Episode 10. Should be up in a couple of hours. :)

Apologies about the delay, these last couple days my work schedule has been having me work, sleep, then back to work, then sleep again, with no time for recording. Sunday [today] I'm off, so I should be able to get at least three more videos up. :D

VWFKamikaze 03-06-11 07:49 AM

And on that note, Episode 10 is up. Episode 11 being encoded. :)

Click on waypoints to move them around . Use the eraser to the left to rub them out .

Look closely at your radio messages especially the sub sighted ones. Generally if the message isn't in red or cyan color it's not for you. Remember there are other subs out there and ships can spot these subs and report them. I think that's what happened with your last sub sighted in video 10.

The options for the radio messages only persist if you edit the options file. Clicking them in game only 'sets' the options for that game interval.

As far as ship names there is a database of over 100 ship names that the game picks from. So it's quite possible you get a foreign name in the from field of the radio messages.
