Silent Failure 5 is kind of a dead give-away, no?

Sorry, but I thought this was just too obvious. :)

Or, perhaps we could refrain from spamming the forum with more rehash of the same topic, always ending in the same result. I thought this was equally obvious.

Or perhaps we should avoid talking about anything at all that you don't personally approve?

Any rules been violated here?

Didn't think so.

Who mentioned the rules? When writing in an official capacity, I always close with 'The Management', as illustrated in post 61; a reference to members calling each other idiots. Post 62 is opinion and conjecture, and as such, the nomenclature is not present.

What are the Rules and Acceptable Use Policies here?

Subsim.com Radio Room Rules and Acceptable Use Policies

The Radio Room forum is not the place for flaming, spewing, or otherwise mouthing off. We do not allow posts where people are called idiots, morons, etc.

Please do not engage in "topic spamming", where you post several threads on the essentially the same topic in a short period of time.

Yeah I always get a kick out of those "rules" and how they are applied. Best interests, good order and discipline, yada yada yada. They're called "catch-all" for a reason.

But more specifically, and to the actual point you were trying to make... I didn't call anyone an idiot and if I'm guilty of topic spamming, so is everyone one else in this place... including the moderators.

And before you point your finger at some post up-thread where the word idiot was used, please note that Mr Samurai's quoted me and his post was directed at me.

Finally, I think it is worth noting that many folks find the specific objection he made (ie, not wanting to hear negative posts about SH5) to be as objectionable as the thing he was objecting to (ie, SH5 sucks and I want my opinion heard).

Nice try though.

Mr. Samurai. That's cute, and it is really going to help things. Did you not read what I wrote? No one is throwing anyone in the brig [yet], and certainly not over what you wrote. Come on, let's all relax.

Yeah sorry about that. You don't spend much time around here and the word samurai was the only part of your ID that came to mind as I was typing.

I've been around since before you even knew what a submarine simulation was, thanks.

jdkbph 06-20-10 06:10 PM

I meant this forum specifically. Don't see you around much... except to offer personal opinions in the guise of forum moderation.

And just when was that, BTW?... when I knew what a submarine simulation was, I mean.

Sounds like you know a lot more about me than I know about you.

Or maybe you don't know a damned thing about me (and when I knew what a submarine simulator was) and you're just talking out your azz, hey?

mookiemookie 06-20-10 06:27 PM

I'll never for the life of me figure out why people antagonize or argue with moderators.

Takeda Shingen 06-20-10 06:54 PM

Yes, and I gave an excellent example of what not to do. I retorted when baited and exacerbated the situation, which is the opposite of what I have implored the membership to do for the past decade. I clearly did not live up to the ideals of good membership today.
