What are they using as servers?
I picture a lonely ZX spectrum 48k sitiing in a cold room powered by a hamster running in a wheel.
Poor hamster mustn't be able to keep the pace after going all week so they have replaced the hamster with its poorer cousin, the gerbil.

I don't think they are using a ZX Spectrum powered by a hamster, because the servers did at one point work. The ZX Spectrum requires a nine volt power supply, which the hamster in its native form cannot supply. If Ubi were using a hamster powered ZX Spectrum, then no one would have been able to play SH5 or AC2 at all.

Since you cannot play you got plenty time to go read again all those nice posts supportive of DRM from people with 24/24 7/7 online connections that work without problem.

:rotfl2:

Yeap I'm playing, all is fine.

GWX makes SH3 really good.

Good hunting.

Barso 03-13-10 05:35 PM

I like your attitude kind sir :salute:

Gilbou 03-13-10 05:40 PM

Looks like you all got what you bought.
Exactly as planned, exactly as expected.

Nisgeis 03-13-10 05:40 PM

Don't diss the Speccy - it has enough processing power to run a nuclear power station don't you know (according to Your Sinclair)! I never did find out though, if that was with or without the memory upgrade (and neither did they).

It could of course be numerous drug-infused hamsters working in a serial connection mode, which will reach about 9.1 volts

C'mon guys, you should be applauding Ubisoft for their latest OH&S initiative. They are seriously considering your health here. OSP now means that you can go out and enjoy the sunshine (or the snow) on weekends.

And all this for only $50 - much cheaper than what you'd pay for gym membership. :yeah:

Not even Ubisoft would be so... but my God it would make sense... yes... after six days on hard drugs... of course, right now those hamsters are all on a major crash... that would perfectly explain the cyclical nature of the downtime.

ACR 03-13-10 05:51 PM

well... the DRM was announced here and everybody who has now bought sh5 and was fooled should have known better. i,m very fine with sh3 and gwx and have plenty plenty time to wait :-)

The hamsters have been on the pro-plus for 5 days straight!!!!!!!!!!
Give them a break, think of the hamsters and the speccy with its dodgy joystick interface that if pulled out or moved while on would ruin the whole setup.
Can't you see, we are talking about a very sensitive setup here.

Gilbou 03-13-10 05:57 PM

Nothing is wrong.

Everything is exactly as it should.

You do not play when you want to play.

You play when Ubisoft wants you to play. If they want you to play.

And after a few years when they release the next version, you can be assured the previous version will not work anymore.

You will have to buy the next version.

Ubisoft : bienvenue dans un monde de merde

:salute:

Are you referring to the Kempston Paradigm?
