Isn't that the truth :har:
Just got kicked again, but this one was 'Losing Key Packets' which is understandable as it did go a bit funky part-way through Ramelle-Neuville. That map is always a bit crazy, whoever sits up at the first flag gets absolutely pasted by German arty, it's a definate 'Keep your heads down' one. :haha:

SHIII. Lining up for my first EVER full manual shot. Spent hours reading all the posts trying to grasp the maths behind, polishing up on the fast 90 method. Fired a spread of two torps, watched both pass harmlessly in front of the boat. Panicked, tried a trick shot guestimating from where my first torps went, but overesitmated and the next spread went harmlessly behind. WHY??? I'd carefully measured the speed. I'd calibrated my persiscope to a 90 degree angle to the ship's path. I'd even set the range so that the little red marker on the stopwatch would tell me when my eels would send that ship to davy jones.

Then I realised that I'd set AOB from the port side rather than the starboard side.

Four eels gone, and a Granville freighter steaming merrily away into the distance.

Facepalm.

Turned off the game and got drunk.

Well, two FFFUU moments (although i admit both of them were my fault).

case 1: Its somewhere in the end of the 80's, me and a friend are playing some soccer game, it was called OMNI-SOCCER if I remember right.
The game had a neat feature - if u shutdown the PC in middle-game - its an auto-lose for you on this match.
Its the finales, we have been climbing the league ladder for weeks (real-time), we were leading 2-1, 40 sec left for the match and my leg gets entangled in the PC power-cord...match-ends!! :wah: (Luckily my fried spared my life, but it was real close).

case 2: OPERATION FLASHPOINT, Resistance expansion. The mission where you need to load the truck at the beach with smaggled us weapons and run for it to a point on some mountain near some trees (and a few houses i think). I load, i drive ditching tanks and a pesky mi-24 chopper, great driving there, looking at the map from time to time, memorizing the map, comparing to the landscape, i reach the point, driving around in circles, everything looks exactly like it should on the map here are the trees here are these houses...common common, where is that end-mission trigger. After pricless 30 sec, chopper coming, i look again in the map...only to find out im circling the wrong mountain top, 500 m from the true location...joke is on me...and also a salvo of russian rockets :dead:
(BTW it was one of these moments i got completly stunned by this awsome game with all it bugs...a feeling that no game had given me since then, including ARMA).

I just found out that Jagged Alliance 2 has problems loading saved games under Vista/Win 7... after 2hrs of gameplay. FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU---- :damn:

Dowly 09-21-09 07:00 AM

Just FYI, if someone is planning to play JA2 on vista or win7, the saving issue can be solved by unchecking the 'read only' property from your JA2 folder (the installer makes it read only for some reason) and running the game as administrator. :salute:

After completing the tasks in the mission "Courier" in DCS: Black Shark I taxied on to the grass by mistake. When I tried to get back to the taxiway the helicopter made a sudden movement and the lower rotor was damaged.

Couldn't taxi to the building and complete the mission. :damn:

Same thing happened on the mission "Shooting Range"

Having spent some time (30 - 60 minutes) trying my best to blow stuff up, I returned to base to rearm when I managed to damage my lower rotor yet again while taxiing. Yay!! :nope:

The lack of quick save in the Ps3 version of Farcry 2 has led to many F---- moments especially when Malaria, gun jams, and guns exploding randomly come in.

One mission in particular stands out. You have to blow up a truck full of Nitrous Oxide for one of the two main factions. My second highest buddy asks that I subvert the mission by stealing an O-ring from the nearby post office, using it to fix the truck, and then driving the truck to a garage. I stole the O-ring and was assaulting the base with the best sniper rifle in the game. I had killed most of the enemies using the rifle and a fire I created with Molotov's. I climb into the sniper tower looking over the area and see enemies standing next to a several propane tanks, what an easy shot. The tanks explode killing the last baddies, but it also creates a huge fire. Said fire ends up surrounding the truck and destroying it. :damn:

I reload the mission and try again. This time I try to avoid shooting the tanks, I get attacked by a group of enemies near the tanks and start to back up hopping they'll follow and be mowed down by my SAW. The bastards end up shooting the tanks themselves, killing all of them. I then made a mad dash to the truck and got it fixed and drove it out before the fire could reach it. I almost failed the mission twice after words, once where I got the truck stuck in a narrow canyon, and the second time when I have to help the buddy clear out an area of guards. He goes down and I rescue him, only to be downed myself. Luckily Delivering the truck raised the buddy into the number 1 slot, making another buddy come to the rescue.

Far Cry 2 is an awesome game, but can unfair at times. Like when you go head to head against a Swamp boat with the grenade launcher, before you can do anything you are usually blown to little pieces.

In GTA4, I do not like getting busted, since you lose your weapons. Especially since I"m usually packed with full M4, SMG, and grenades. Most of the time I try to escape or die if I get a wanted level. If I get busted, I usually reload my game.

I had finished a days worth of missions and I was heading back to my apartment to save. Since I'm on foot I decide to steal a car, before I could drive 5 feet I was busted. I exited out of the game. Only to realize that I had not been using autosave and just lost all my progress. :rotfl2:

I'm playing a Plunder match(like capture the flag, but with only 1 flag) in the Uncharted 2 beta. The score is tied at 4/4, whichever team gets the next point wins the game. I have the idol(flag) and I'm inches away from the goal when I'm greeted with a black screen.

Apparently one of our teammates was the host and had decided to quit the game. Which causes the round to restart due to the host being switched. Before my team could stop them the other team scores the idol. :stare:

Playing SH4... attempting to take down a DD picket guarding the entrance to some tiney island harbor.

Work my way in close and wait for the DD to cross my path within 1,200 yards works out well and I set up tubes 1-3 and tubes 7 & 8. Fast with contact triggers.

Sure enough the DD crosses right accross my bow ! set up the shots and loose tubes 1 & 2 for the center of the boat, tube 3 slightly ahead of his path as I know he is going to scoot as soon as he sees 1 & 2.

Fish 1 makes its way out a good shot ! Watching with the external camera my heartbeat increases as the torpedoe closes on a perfect intercept path 5 seconds... tick tick tick... DOINK ! Torpedo was a dud sir :damn: Well good thing I fired two. Of course the DD goes to flank and the second fish passes astern. AHA ! I got em now as he sails right into the path of the third fish... DOINK... dud

Had already started my turn turning hard at flank by now the DD was hauling butt and was going to crross my stern quite quickly.

Set up the shots from the stern tubes... fire 7 only 20 seconds run time... fire 8 !... again I watch excitedly as the No 7 fish meets on a perfect intercept path.... DOINK  dud... Well good thing I fired a second... watch in dismay as the last torpedo slips beneath the keel of the DD and keeps on going. I had forgot to change the depth on No 8 :damn:

Five fish shot 3 duds two misses :shifty:.

On the bright side one of the wayward torpedoes struck a landed HK6 and set it ablaze :haha:

We went deep and slinked away with a few cans dropped far off the mark escape was not a problem. But I did let off a few ffffuuuu's

I have trouble with it on Normal. :haha:

My savefile for MGS1 on my ps3 is at the torture scene, I want the Meryl ending but can't seem to beat the torture. I've tried several of the "techniques" other people have suggested.
