Sugar and water :hmm: I know that works with wallpaper if you forget to buy the paste :)

I am cursed with being able to buy everything i need to build such things...theres a hobby shop about an hour from here, and i dont go there with less than 100 bucks... because everything i want needs its own personal appointment in my room(s)

i just finished building a VIIC/41 model, methinks its the same size. forgot the scale but i think its close to 36 inches...

i was annoyed cuz i wanted to build the deckgun....and not 5 and a half million anti-aircraft guns...

i used the decals it came with and built the U-995. white on grey, i didnt have the paint (or the patience, ironically) for the more elaborate paintjobs

keep up the good work!

U812 that's a very good looking U-boat.

Everyone's U-boat's is better than mine. So it left no room for me to brag:D
Here's my humble boat:

She has a glossy lower hull sob sob. My U-boat IQ was a bit lower then:88)

I don't agree! You did a great job and I like the glossy look. Looks wet. Weathering looks great too.

Hei that was fast U812. Don't leave your boat in the attic. Mine is now encased in an acrylic display case. Don't want my 5 weeks worth of effort to be damaged by irresponsible hands no matter how silly the paint job is.

Thx for the consolation:)

U812 11-26-07 04:06 AM

5 weeks? That's pretty darn good. Really it's a fine model. Now I want the market garden version. I have too many subs if there is such a thing.

Don't know if you watched the video or not but mine is a fully diving RC boat. Temping isn't it?

Humble Boat ? Are you serious ? That is one awesome looking U-Boat ! Wish I had the patience to paint stuff but usually end up losing the rag and hundreds of pieces turn into thousands of pieces with dobs of paint everywhere :damn:

Hehe Thx Kpt Munson but I really do think I mispainted the lower hull though it didn't turn out to be that bad. Catchy sig Kpt Munson LOL.

U812 Yea I noticed your sig I have neither the cash nor the skill nor the pond to enjoy that luxury of yours .

Simple solution: go to the hobby shop, look at the paints, buy a can of Dullcote (tm), and give her a couple of good coats. Voila! Instant flat.

Don't forget to dust her off real good first.:sunny:

I think that it just looks amazing...simply amazing. If I had that, I would freakin piss my pants.

The problem is in the City where I live there is only 1 worthy sizeable hobby store that is downtown Taman Anggrek Mall and would you be surprised If I told you that the kit I built was the only one at a hefty US$110.00. And as far as I know that store doesn't sell dullcote or any dull coat rattle can. Other numerous smaller stores only sell kits, airbrushes, paint cups and no rattle cans:shifty:. But thanks for the suggestion. I've been thinking to do just that when I have access to the cans and have gathered enough courage to gamble it out:roll:.

@Jonathan look at these masterpieces. Beware this would definitely shi* our pants(excuse the language;))
