Although I'd love to see something like a Destroyer command 2, a surface ship isn't really "silent hunter" is it lol. BOOM BOOM BOOM go the main guns, "they'll never know we were here sir!" lol.:arrgh!:

All these posts about another Silent Hunter got me thinking. They release SH3, Modders make the Far east playable. They release SH4, modders are trying to make the Atlantic playable. So those that buy the games always seam to want to be able to play in other areas of the world and with different nationalities.
Wouldn't it be intresting if the developers instead of picking a nationality, just developed a subsim, which was designed like Microsofts flightsim. Where it is easy to add extra subs (in this case), play as any nationlity, where the models can be enhanced or added by modders? They could concenrate on making a very accurate naval enviroment spanning the whole worlld with a fully customisable career structure. Just a dream, but perhaps oneday. |
I think the reason the atlantic sharks want the atlantic in SHIV is for the updated graphics engine. The problem with that vision, is that ubi would have released one sim, and then have no options to entice more people to buy future editions of the series. Remember Ubi don't give a sh*t about the community and how easy it is to mod their games. They just want the profit, even if it means releasing a game 2 or 3 months too ealy...*cough* SHIV! *cough*.
