I have personally been looking forward for someone to make barrage balloons. Kudos matey.

All I've done at this point is model the Barrage Balloon.
I will not be doing any in Game effects for this at this time.
Nor will I be releasing it at this time.
But it is not dead.
That is all I will tell you at this time.

The Air Ships are under HEAVY testing at this point.
A lot of work and research needs to be finished to put them
in Game in a realistic way.
Model work is looking good based on the K units which were the work horse
of the WWII Convoy Escorts.

Here's a quick shot of the K-ship model I'm doing. I think you'll see it looks much more lke a true K ship now.

Everything is done from scratch on this model and I had to learn a LOT more about working with 3ds Max!:o
The Crew cab alone was done around 20 times!:nope:

I also have been updateing the model as I garner more information and images.

If anyone has some good links or pictures on the K ship, feel free to hook me up by PM.

iambecomelife 01-13-07 12:53 PM

Excellent job - PLEASE keep us posted on any developments.

Sailor Steve 01-13-07 04:49 PM

Cool. That new model is looking good.

iambecomelife 01-13-07 08:59 PM

A question: Have you tested aircraft's reaction to the barrage balloons? Does the AI do a good job of avoiding them, or will we occasionally see bombers crash into them (as was intended, historically)?

Madox58 01-13-07 10:18 PM

I had a couple ME 262s get pretty close once.:o
But I haven't seen a collision yet.
I'll have to throw a bunch of planes in a test mission and see what happens.:hmm:

Latest shot of the K-Ship
