That's when mine crashes too. It's literly within 10-15 seconds after the shooting starts.

Oh, and I was wrong last night. I don't get the same error with the fix installed, it's just a straight CTD. But it still does it in the same spot.

Ditto. Same with the straight CTD.

Quick question Dan\Chris

Did you notice aircraft ?
Or the BR DD searchlights go up in the air ?

Yes to both. 3 aircraft total with 1 being destroyed.

To all having problems with these missions. Can you answer these questions. (B4 JS steps in, this is just for reasons of elimination)

Prior to the installation of GWX.....

1)Did you Rollback SH3 Cmdr and then Uninstall it? (removing the program folder)

After the installation of GWX

2)Did you install SH3 Cmdr 2.7 (latest version) + GWX specific cfg files.
3)Did you install the TSR fix for SH3 Cmdr? http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=362078&postcount=66

(FYI - JScones pulled the first version of 2.7 just prior to the release of GWX, the latest version is available on his site).

I don't presume that you don't know how to do this, however we have worked through a few problems and have found that either.......

a)Your previous SH3Cmdr was not rolled back and uninstalled
b)The correct fixes have not been installed
c)Or (if you have multi-installs) that SH3Cmdr is not pointing to the right install (via /l switch)

If this doesn't apply to you then please ignore.

If we remove all the possible causes then we will be left with probable ones.

Well, I think I did install 2.7 BEFORE I installed GWX. But I rolled back and everything.

@ Rose

If you had SH3Cmdr 2.7 before GWX I think that you may have the old version.

I know it's a pain but this is what I would try.....

Rollback 2.7
Uninstall 2.7 + Delete the Folder in programs
Re-Download 2.7 from JS's website.
Reinstall & Apply the 2 patch/fix's I mention above.

It's possible that installing SH3Cmdr 2.7 before GWX is the problem. I don't know how but it has been mentioned.

And with JScones on Holiday until the new year we can only try what we can.

Important - Just a thought how much RAM do you have? Have you tried increasing your windows virtual memory? Virtual Memory uses HDD space like RAM, it can really improve performance.

Edit - I can't quite understand how this mission works for some and not others.

KaleunHassanAziz 12-21-06 09:47 AM

I'm having the same CTD on that mission, and

I don't use SHC or JS. I don't think the two are

related to the crash.

What's strange is after having CTD on Opr Cere mission,
I began to have crash on stock Bismarck mission as well.

It worked fine after installing GWX. But now, no more.

I haven't tried anyother single mission other than Opr CEre
and bismarck.

(Sorry for my english)

I really wish I could watch the Opre Cerebus to the end. What a mission!!

bigboywooly 12-21-06 06:11 PM

Rose you have PM

andy_311 12-21-06 06:34 PM

Just tried it, 2DDs sunk and yep CTD.

JU_88 12-22-06 05:00 AM

CDTs for me too!
But i havent had time to play around or re-install yet... not a major issue for me as I rarely play single missions.

Webchessie 12-22-06 08:51 PM

Changed my virtual memory paging files to 1533 min. - 5000 max.

I uninstalled everthing, re-downloaded GWX and SH3 Commander. After reloading, the mission ran without a CTD. Even sunk a DD in the middle of the battle!

For me, this seems to solve the problem of CTDs on this mission.

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.
