May, 1943, foggy night, Western Approaches. Submerged at 180 meters. Contact a convoy, call in pack, sink one ship myself. Forced to dive. Many game hours later, cannot shake a three ship Hunter-Killer group. Unlike Sh3, an AOD H-K group is something to be feared.
Doesn't help I took propeller shaft damage and its making noise. :) Radio out, outer bow torpedo doors and fore hydroplanes damaged and unrepairable at sea also. |
I would surface and attach a clean white t-shirt to the attack scope... "alles kaput"... as the Red Baron once said(allegedly:hmmm:) to a beet farmer on this date in 1918!:k_confused:
