Silent hunter 3

Tried to install 1.4 patch from CD Mediterranean expansion pack. Mess come up files missing. Tried again but installed expansion disc 1St then do patch got same mess up but diff files missing.. Tried again without doing patch game crashed half way through loading wanting to send a report. Looked in report says knell files list like when on???

What is that? I've been playing SH3 for fifteen years now and I've never heard of that.
