Not sure, although I do know certain models of WWII German mine were hornless.... I believe they just sensed a magnetic field and thus didn't need the traditional chemical horn to detonate. Again, excellent shots and I hope to see more; I've been busy modding SH4 with no time to patrol!

Here is a screenshot from my game - My boat, U-40, can be seen here sneaking through the english channel while enroute to its patrol zone in grid square CG 46. current date is september 5, 1939.
