Congrats on finishing your first tournament! You'll be in the top three :)

MP is fun, I've done a few rounds with others in real time. Takes a lot longer though.

New event starts tomorrow evening

Nice work in the last event mapuc, your third round was especially good. Getting the hang of it. I played the first two rounds of the current tournament at TPC Summerlin and was doing well in the first round before making triple on 17. Second round was worse and made an 8 on a par 4. Good grief.

The harder the trial the more glorious the triumph, or something.

Thanks for participating, hope you're having a good time.

Oh I do have a good time-It's fun however I'm not competing against you, but against myself.

It's still the putting I have problems with, despite having seen a lot of videos on how to put.
Which generate a question
How accurate is the greens in the game compared to the real life greens ?

Can't say with any certainty, but they look right to me. I believe they have used drone-mounted laser scanning to do the courses, but I don't know if it is for every course, and then there's a entire section of user-made courses as well. But from what I know, the 'official' courses are scanned and so should be quite accurate indeed.

If we ever play Riviera then you'll see really obnoxious greens!

About the putting.... did you try the putt preview exercise I mentioned?

In your offline play enable putt preview and set it to unlimited. Stand over your putt and read it. Then set your marker where you think it needs to be to make the putt. Hit putt preview to see how far off you were.

The more you do it the closer your estimate will be until you are draining 30 footers all over the place.

When you set the marker you can move it in four directions -- left, right, farther and closer. Do not change the distance as the game automatically does this for you. Only move straight right or left to account for the break. If it is significantly up or down hill then use the power meter to account for it. Big uphill hit a little over the power meter. Downhill hit less than the meter.

If I only knew how to activate this put preview
Searching to web gives only advise on how to activate it when using a controller I'm using mouse and keyboard.

It's under the difficulty settings. Check this video and it is shown at 2:10. Actually, it appears here in the still shot of the video

Set it to unlimited and then play the round. On controller it is hold X to run the preview, not sure what it is for keyboard but it will prompt you.

It appears the key you need to use is R, hold it down.

Water is absolutely not a good thing for me or should I say my balls are attracted to this liquid. Same goes for sandbunkers.

Yesterday on round 3 I had +23 today I had +34.

That does not bode well, as the next tournament is Sawgrass with a island green :)

And plenty of water

I wish that this 3-click barometer wasn't so fast-The two bars who appears after I have released the left button goes fast around.

In real life it would be like place ball on wood stick then hit the ball directly no aiming.

Maybe try a controller? If you don't have one, any cheap USB X Box knock-off will work great.

Are you kidding? No aiming? :O:

Once you got into Golf+ and have a golf attachment club, you will immediately realise how extraordinarily complex the task is. Sports theory not for no reason says the golf swing is the most complex and difficult movement process known in sports. I am at war with it since I started playing golf half a year ago. :D
And just btw., I've pulled a muscle in my back once again. Overstretching/overrotating during the drive...

Threadfin 03-30-24 01:30 PM

That may be true, but here we are just talking about a couple of clicks, and mapuc is struggling with the timing. Just a matter of getting that down. In this game we don't worry about ball position, stance, swing plane, transition, grip or the myriad things a real golfer contends with. Here it is just set power, click click. The rest is taken care of automatically.

I don't know if a controller would help, maybe not, but it is my preferred way to play this game.

Skybird 03-30-24 05:13 PM

I was pulling his leg, but for the record, he did explicitly refer to real golf when he said that in reality you do this and that and "would not aim". :03: ("In real life it would be like place ball on wood stick then hit the ball directly no aiming.") Wood stick = pin, I assume. So he refers to a drive in the real world.

Well, you must aim the drive. I know - since it gives me nothing but troubles. I spray my first shots off the tee in a 35° arc left and right off the intended target line. :-?:timeout:
