This from a country with a history of keeping it's people behind walls and barb wire fence and shooting them if they tried to escape the Soviet Bloc countries. In the case of the Ukraine, they don't want to be associated with Russia / USSR or have anything to do with your country. The U.S didn't make that decision, the Ukraine did. It's the same decision that Poland, Germany, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and other countries made. The free countries of the world understand that and support the Ukraine.
