Quotes

In a cosmopolitan, tolerant Europe, one should not have the choice to not discriminate against the non-voter. - Not by Willy Brandt.

Nobody gets born and has a desire to vote. - Not by Nelson Mandela.

You do not have to trust us, because we do not promise you anything anyway.

You saw a clip by the Nonvoter party. The party is not responsible for the content of this spot.

Was the German proposal to force companies to build backdoors into their products (ie whatsup) discussed?

Skybird 05-25-19 04:54 PM

Bundestrojaner, enforced decryption of Whatsapp et. al. and backdoors in software - something like these is in the making everywhere, all the time. Nobody cares. Its more important for the kids to have partytime every Friday and feel very important while they boycot one fifth of their weekly school schedules.

German police have begun a murder investigation after a long-time member of Chancellor Angela Merkel's party was shot dead outside his home.

Walter Lubcke, 65, was discovered in his garden in the early hours of Sunday morning with a gunshot wound to the head that was "fired at close range", prosecutors have said.

A motive has not yet been established. Suicide has been ruled out.

Tragic :nope:

Catfish 06-04-19 01:53 PM

Thank you for your sympathy.

I already wanted to post this but in all this other news.. Luebcke has obviously made himself some enemies when publicly defending those immigrants in Germany who deserve the fugitive status. He had also criticized the german AfD party.

In case of Jo Cox it most probably was a 'lunatic' who killed her, i am not so sure here. The german right wing is celebrating, not only online. :nope:
Imho this is what happens if you give the far right only a bit too much leeway.

Google tranlate, but abysmal translation - sorry.

As I use to tell my Danish and Swedish friends.

If you dislike a politician you shall not harm this person in any way, its better you convince his or her supporters they should put their vote on a someone else.

Easier said than done. Does not work this way in 9 out of 10 attempts - if that many.

Reason gets hopelessly overestimated as a source for our future fate. Most people run by instincts, hormones, greed, and - intense but shallow - emotions.

In lack of a better thread/place, I place this here, Germany at least also is affected by it.

A suspect has been arrested, former NPD member and a rNazi, it seems.

However, why did it get this far? The truth of this case is not cokpelte if not considering why Lübke, the murder victim, was hated with such passion. Lübke, a Merkel-loyal CDU man, in 2015 stood himself in front of a CDU embers assembly and said that now these many foreigners were coming and that it were the duty of germany to welcome them "no matter what" and how many - and if some of the local natives did not like it, then they should pack their thigns and stuff and leave Germany, it were a free country and nobody would hold them back.

If you stand in front of he booing audience of a main party and deliver a basta!-speech like this that drips of arrogance and moral supremacism and lacking understanding for the alarmed mood of native German citizens, then you should not be surprised that in case of your death not many people will shed a single tear over you.

This much I say: I do not miss him.
