Greetings everyone! I'm Phoenix. Just bought Silent Hunter 5 and started with TWOS right away. Needles to say, my first patrol went horribly wrong and was pretty short. But i'm trying to learn... :salute:

Hi all really looking forward to playing SH5 and exp. the TWO's mod...

Trying to read the how to's here but it is like a huge mine field...
I ordered the SH5 Gold addition from Kinguin and downloaded it thru the Ubisoft-uplay.

everything (uplay and SH5) Downloaded under 1 folder and I have seen the DAM Trailer load up with out sound mind you about 12 times but still can not get the basic game to run on Win 10.(all I get when launching is the trailer w/ no sound in upper 3/4 of my screen then nothing)

Any way I will be happy to finally get this to work(posted in SH5 gereral for some direction)

A week (and a half) ago I had never heard of Silent Hunter. Then I watched a LOT of videos and decided to jump in myself. TWoS and Real Navigation included.

Hey AP, I think I know you. :P

Had the same problem trying to get this up and running a few days ago and after much trouble found a solution:

Go the the sh5.exe in your install folder and right click. Select properties and go the to compatibility tab [while here you might as well check "Run this program as administrator" under Settings]. At the bottom of settings under the compatibility tab there should be a button for "Change high DPI settings". Select this then check "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: Application."

That let me get the stock game running, then installing the TWOS mod was no issue.

getting out of intro movie
 

Gents.. in Win 10... I have not touched this game in @ 2 years... I can not get out of the intro movie to start the game... any help

Wolfpack and SH5
 

Just wanted to drop by and say hello. Playing SH4, SH5 and now wolfpack all at the same time. Have to get my subsim fix I guess. One question, I have the steam version of SH5 and would like to know what mega mods and anything else to make it better. At this point SH4 still takes all over SH5. But, I know SH5 has it in her, the graphics are amazing!

New to the Community
 

Hey all! I'm new to the sub simulation scene. I'm 24, married, and originally from the states. Currently, I'm in Germany. (I know, pretty ironic that SH5 is what led me here) Already donated to keep this fantastic community around! I have read through some of the forums already looking for mods and tips. Let me just say that you are all a fantastic group! I'm looking to get into Wolfpack and Uboat (when it releases on the 30th!!!) but, I'm currently learning my way around a sub playing SH5 using the Wolves of Steel mod with all realistic settings. (No hand holding here) I hope you all continue to have a fantastic time and I hope to see some of you out on the water! :ping:
