Hey all, just installed SH5. Have taken a 3-4 year hiatus. Played SH4 but wasnt around for the first 2. I went back pretty far w silent service for the amiga.. once sank me a whole japanese task force.. complete w 2 carriers and a couple cruisers. played wolfpack and aces of the deep. Those were the days. Now after reading a few amazing books about subs im ready to dive back in again!! Lookin forward to being a part of the community! :salute:

Hello all,

had been away from subsim quite a while about 3 years or so. Recently picked up SH5 from Steam 2 weeks ago.
As I served from 89-93 as a Navigator-Maat in the German Navy mainly on the Fast Minesweeper "Passau" really love all those Mod's bringing realism to the play.
Brings back some nostalgic feeling especially as there was no GPS as I started my Navy career I think the first GPS I worked with was in 91 one that was originally mounted in the F16 airplane. After another 10 years as officer in the Army I started my second live as a software developer. So maybe if I find some spare time between work and "hunting" I might get into modding, too.

intro

Hi all, i'm Marco, 40 years, living in the Netherlands. Since i read a book from my grandfather when i was a kid about the wartime experiences of a young dutch submariner, i am gripped. Played Silent Service on Amiga, built submarine models. Played SH3 until i replaced my pc for a faster one. This one didn't accept SH3 anymore unfortunately. So i installed SH5 and am back in service. Next to subsimming i like flight sims, like Wings of Prey. I also do video editing, photographing, reading and motorbiking (Steve, US roads are still on my wish list!). I am always trying to learn more about WW1 and 2.
Respect for the modders here.. they are gifted wizards.

Thanks :) Currently finding out the new interface and the best way to make use of TheDarkWraith's New UI for SH5. it's all running smooth, but it takes some time to get to know it, and which additional mods are really adding to the experience (graphs & sounds) and gameplay.
