Bone question guys, But how do you pause the game and clear the screen and get rid of the mouse pointer?
In SH3 all you had to do was hit Numpad Del and NumLock and it cleared the screen and just minus the TC to 0 and it paused the game. But that does not seem to work in SH5.

Shift z clears the HUD. I've changed this to NumDel, because that's what I'm used to using.
To get rid of the mouse pointer I just move it right to the bottom of the screen before taking the shot.
On thing though, I cannot seem to take a screenshot whilst the game is paused. So I pause it, set up the shot, then unpause and quickly hit the SS button.

Shame that you cant take shots while paused that is a bummer as it was the best way to take screens in SH3.

Sure you can. I do it all the time. You don't get the message that you took it, but it takes it.

Am having a blond moment here.
When you pause the game. Do you get the option menu pop up? If so, Does hitting Shift z or NumPad get rid of it?

If not how are you guys pausing the game.

Sorry for the bone questions but am just skull ****d at the moment.

Currently I'm using Control Keys 1.1, which claims to have moved the screen grab to PrintScreen, but hasn't really. :)


First you need to hide the UI (Shift-Z or Numpad Del for me), since you can't once the game is paused, then I press Backspace to pause the game. There's no "Game Paused" marker though. Then fly wherever you want to take your picture and use Ctrl-F11 to take the shot. One interesting thing is while paused the waves will change with your camera angle.

If you're in question, alt tab out real quick and check that it created the BMP file in Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\

Watching the beautiful cliffs of Helgoland after refuelling for the long trip to the western approaches. Sailing all the way out there from Kiel, I imagine it's easy to run out of gasoline.
