Thank you for the welcome THEBERBSTER and Jimbuna :salute:. It has been a long time since I played Silent Hunter III and even then it was brief. First time playing with mods. I tried to install the 4GB Patch as found on Subsim.com but it won't recognize the Steam version of the game. What is the patch for? I will also run SH3 in Windows 7 compatability mode.

I managed to find a version of the 4GB patch here and got it to work thanks to a Steam thread I found. I probably will have to create another Steam folder in the future though for other games like Silent Hunter 4. Thank you for your help THEBERBSTER. I will definitely look at more of your guides to solve problems in the future. That is quite the accomplishment getting all those threads organized and catalogued.

Not sure if this was posted somewhere else (probably was) but I am having some problems of my own, regarding mods.
The process has been pretty simple thus far: load mods one by own to test for standalone compatibility, then start combining them to ensure they are all compatible with each other. However, one mod has been bringing trouble, and thus putting a stop to my progress. The TKSS18 German U-Boats Compilation mod, for some reason or another, does not seem to work with GWX, even when loaded by itself. Does anyone have a fix/solution/alternative? I'd love to hear. Thanks in advance! On a side note, there is still more mods to test in the future, so more problems may arise as a result. A few that I intend on using are: -Ahnererbe WideGUI 1920x1080 -FM_NewInterior v2.1D -Thomsen's Sound Pack V3.2cg -ManosEnvironmentPro V5 |
What are the characteristics of your computer? Do you have enough RAM? Do you use 4 Gb Patch?

Intel Core i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHZ 8GB RAM I do not have the 4 Gb patch, no. Would it make that much of a difference? Running GWX without the aforementioned mods works without issue. |
U-48 Intelligence Report
There are NO minefields in the English Channel and Dover Straits pre-war.
Passed through Straits of Dover, surfaced, evening of Aug 29, 1939. Sighted numerous ships as we continued Westbound. Passed Lands End at 18.30 local time, Aug 31, 1939, just after the war warning radio message about attack on Poland. Submerged for safety. No mines encountered and no ships fired on us. |
Have you guys noticed that Flak Artillery tutorial in Naval Academy became totally unplayable? Flak gun itself became useless against fast planes. Is it a bug or a feature? :hmmm:

On the other hand I find trying to survive that course to be fun. Aggravating, but fun. |
My question regarding mod compatibility with GWX has gone unanswered since the beginning of June. I normally don't repost like this, but I am still desperately looking for answers and assistance.
