I like work. It fascinates me. I sit and look at it for hours.

This evening, in the NCAA (National College Athletic Association) basketball tournament Kentucky's largest university, University of Kentucky is playing my college alma mater, Northern Kentucky University. I think this is the first time, watching a game, that I actually wanted both teams to win.

When I first saw your post, it brought to mind when I first saw that particular one liner. In the neighborhood in San Francisco where I grew up, just around the corner from my house was a little store, Bill's Corner Grocery. Bill and his wife used to collect and tack up little card signs, with quips, jokes and clever sayings, all along the front of the upper shelves behind the counter; your posted line was one of those cards. I remember them pretty well, so I'll share another of Bill's cards:

"If you nose runs and your feet smell -- you're built upside down."

Another place in my neighborhood also posted humorous cards, Al's Barber Shop (Al also gave me my first ever haircut). One card he posted, funny and a bit dark:

One day, I sat on the curb, depressed and downhearted.
Then a voice from above spoke: "Cheer up - things could be worse!".
So I cheered up and, sure enough!!
Things got Worse!!
