For those interested in Dowly and my discussion on the strange marking for BF109 in my picture....here is the answer:

http://books.google.com/books?id=IzJ...PdAFxAb0&hl=en

Exact same markings as my model and apparently a Erich Hartmann plane! 15 kills as noted on the tail in the picture and my model has the same. Read the writing on the left hand side. It explains the wiggly line over the yellow band that is over the GU! History once again reveals itself!

Congrats, mate!! You are right, that is a HUGE deal!! Excellent!:up::up::up::up:

pasting a copy of my general hard-typed description...

Things went badly I am out of action for a while/ I just spent 3 days in hospital, 2 of them hooked up on IV and 3 hours in ortho surgery. I am on a cocktail of painkillers, and my arm has 2 huge bolts through the elbow, steel plates connecting them to armbones on both sides, a large amount of wire holding broken-off pieces of my left elbow together. Which is to say my elbow is now almost completely titanium. All of that was done through a 6" lengthwise and 3" lateral incisions that are now held together with a ton of staples and will leave huge scars. Hopefully everything will go fine from this point on but there is a risk I could regain only partial use of my elbow. however all 3 major nerves going through my arm are undamaged and my hand will be okay. I can move and feel it just fine, but only up to the point where my forearm muscles are only partally needed - some of those are really screwed up at the moment. And typing with my right hand aint much fun right now either, s o I'll stop.

unless I figure out a good voice to text program, consider me out of the game. Using the mouse is easy for me but keyboard is a real strain.

Tchocky 03-30-08 04:26 PM

CCIP is in drydock..... :)

Sorry to see you in bad shape, man. All I can say is that departments/supervisors are usually very reasonable about medical emergencies affecting work. My copious extensions can vouch for this :)

Get well soon!

Best wishes,

Tchock

And here I've managed to make it almost sixty years without ever breaking anything.

Not gloating, just wondering at the vagaries of life.

Get well.:sunny:

thanks guys. the drugs somehow kicked in again and with a horrible effect - I had instant uncontrollable hallucinations kick in several times now. I i don't know how people get addicted to this stuff its terrifying. :o

looks like my stitches are ok though. hope I can just ride it out now.

antikristuseke 03-31-08 02:58 AM

Walk it off you pansie :p

Hope you recover soon, remember a horrible fracture bellow my right knee and its not something I would wish on anyone.
