Sylvester McCoy is a good laugh. :yep: Colin Baker is too, I know he once had a reputation for being a bit up himself but he seems to have mellowed out a lot as he's gotten older. In fact, he's even come to terms with his old nemesis enough to autograph its casing:

Now, in regards to last nights ep:

I don't think that's the end of Clara, although I'd be pleasantly surprised if it was, it was...a bit underwhelming really, so I wouldn't be surprised if she made another appearance before the season is out...but if she didn't then it would be fair...a bit like how Tasha Yar was killed off in Star Trek The Next Generation, because sometimes deaths are underwhelming and they come out of nowhere, although the BBC was kind enough to spoil this one to buggery in order to try and drum up viewer figures.
What probably didn't help was that Coleman wasn't actually originally supposed to be in this season at all, she was originally due to be written out in the Christmas episode with that touching goodbye with elderly Clara, but then she changed her mind and stayed for another season and they had to hastily bolt on that ending with the headcrab.

So anyway, Clara is gone and the Doctor has been teleported 'somewhere', oh...fantastic acting by Maisie Williams as always, she really has a promising career ahead of her if she avoids the pitfalls of stardom.
Next episode he will be persued by something called 'The Veil' apparently. Now, I happened to come across a couple of spoilers so I will spoiler warning you here.

In the last episode of this season, the Doctor will return to Gallifrey apparently, so I wager that if one were to add 'yard' to the end of 'The Veil' we might get a closer image of what the Doctor is up against. After all, Moffat has already written in 'The Name of the Doctor' "the Great Intelligence states that "Valeyard" is one of the names by which the Doctor will be known before the end of his life" and we know from the Master that "It was then revealed by the Master that the Valeyard was, in fact, the Doctor himself — or rather, an amalgamation of the darker sides of the Doctor's nature, from somewhere between his twelfth and final incarnation." So there we have it, Capaldi is technically twelfth, Gallifrey has returned and Moffat has already mentioned the Valeyard back in season seven, so I think that we may be in with a chance of seeing its return...along with more of this hybrid nonsense, and probably bloody Missy too. :/\\!!

Hello sweetie you aged. :har:

Ugh. River Song was good in Silence in the Library, acceptable in 'The time of angels', but has gotten steadily more annoying from then on. The twist in 'A Good Man Goes to War' was good, I'll give them that, but her character has gotten worse and worse. Not Alex Kingstons fault, she's a good actress, just writers not knowing what to do with her but feeling forced to bring her back again and again. The Paternoster Gang are another example, although thankfully not yet done to the same extent, but they were a group of characters that were created for a specific episode but because of their popularity with the fanbase have been repeatedly brought back. I guess you could say that of the Daleks and the Cybermen too, although at least they have quietened down a bit now (you watch, they'll appear as the main villains in the next two episodes now I've said that).
Still, we'll see...Capaldi has the opportunity to shine over the next two episodes, to give us Tennant levels of emotion, glimpses of which we've already seen, most recently in 'The Zygon Inversion', but the question is...will the writers let him?

To explain what I mean by 'Tennant levels of emotion', I mean moments like...and I'll spoiler this in case there's anyone who hasn't gone back to those episodes:

Dr Who does films again with a hint of Terminator 3. :03:

Right eyes down for a full house and my verdict is in, not bad episode a bit strange but the ending got a little boring before.......

Sorry no I am not even going to give you a clue. :O:

Had a feeling and only very near the end that feeling was right. Hope the season final is a good one and judging by the clip it could be.

It does make me ponder if Moffat is going to tie this to the 1996 film. :hmmm:

Looks like a Dalek or Daleks are back in the final and was that a weeping angle in there as well?

So i just finished "water of mars".

Been playing catchup on netflix the last couple weeks, figured I can't be a proper nerd without having seen the Doctor.

I don't think I would have stuck with this if I had to wait a week or few to see the next one, but having the stories run together like this certainly helps.

But I did sit up and mutter some words aloud when we discovered the origin of the face of Bo.

Just finished watching 'Heaven Sent', and I must say I was impressed. In fact I thought it was brilliant. Toward the end I started to question it, but in the last few seconds I was right back where I started.

Can't wait for the season finale. :sunny:

Well, to be honest, this time you overestimate my thought processes. I actually didn't "do" anything there. At least not intentionally.

I wish I had thought of it, though. It's a pretty good one.

I hate that I can't read this thread yet!

An interesting video from Peter Jackson, and Tolkein fans might want to make a note of the book on his desk... :03:
