Having seen the screenshot in post 669 a question came into my mind. OLC do intend to put even the salvo/single selector and the Fächerwinkel (Spread Angle) selector in the F3 Peri screen. Then it would be a perfect attack center from my point of view.

Huh!??

Those switches are already in the F3 Peri screen. They have been there since version 1.0.0!

Coming features (in the order I remember them):
-Fixed mast height for Medium Tanker.
-Shortcut to UZO.
-Some polish added to the dark version (one or two things were still too bright i.e. the red needle on chrono and the orange border around buttons when you mouse-over them; other things were too dark i.e. the text in the lower-right corner of the screen). :hmm:
-Joe's new Range/AOB Finder with better precision and FOV.
-Navmap and Attack Map both darkened in line with the rest of the GUI. :hmm:
-Night time indicator (a Moon Icon - see below) added to navmap. :shifty: Don't like this one. It would be useful but it is highly unrealistic IMO that moon icon magically pops up on your nav map. It seems like a small cheat.
-New, crisp nomograph added to navmap.
-"paper" effect removed from navmap to allow better use of the draggable depth tool.
-Draggable depth tool colours completely redone.

Night (note the moon icon)

He put it inside the quote. Baffled me for a moment, too.

JC, noted, and thanks.

Anyone else hate the moon icon?

Friedl9te 01-23-08 03:47 PM

Hate, of course not.

But, just need it as urgent as a third shoulder.

onelifecrisis 01-23-08 04:31 PM

Hmm. :hmm:

Funny, it's the first "night filter" I've made that I'm genuinely happy with... though, as ever, I could live without it.

I'll wait and see if more comments are forthcoming.

I'm not sure yet :rotfl:

I was wondering if I would like it or find it silly, and I guess I can't know until I try it and see if I get used to it or not. It's perfectly logical and sensible, but slightly quirky too. Hmm, maybe another poll? :hmm: Just kidding ;)

Otherwise, the new version looks most excellent and I very much look forward to trying it out. :smug:

Small suggestion: maybe it's worth swapping the F8 Objectives screen shortcut (BdU) for the Hydrophones? In GWX 2.1 the assigned patrol grid isn't of much importance anyway (no renown), and even if it was who goes to this screen more than 2 or 3 times in a patrol? On the other hand, the 'H' key is the only one I always have to use if I'm being lazy and using the mouse (I know I can navigate my way through the hatch and right-click the sonarman, but that's a lot more work!). Normally I use the keyboard shortcuts anyway, so this is of little importance to me, but thought it might come in useful for some people. :88)

CapZap1970 01-23-08 04:57 PM

Personally, I like to moon idea... :hmm:
Anyway it looks very good!!!

You can right-click on the sonarman icon (bottom right) to go straight there. Works with all the officers :yep: except the watch man :shifty:. Right clicking on him takes you to the bridge, just like the bridge shortcut. Seems to me that for consistency (there's that word again) right-clicking on the WO should make me become the WO, like it does with all the other officers. But hey, it's hardly a game breaker.

OLC:
i have a question, and sorry if this has been asked before: is this mod compatible with GWX 2.0?
Thanks in advance...

Hate no (I love the sight of the moon), unrealistic yes. But since we won't be able to persuade you into the rig-for-red filter, I'll settle. ;) Quite an 'Keep it simple'-solution actually. About the rest of version 1.2: Another 2 .

p.s. Just to satisfy my own modding desires. I am not asking somebody else to do it, just expertise. Is there anything, other than my own modding ignorence, that prevents (me) putting the fine gyro dial (0-9 degrees) on the scope/uzo screens? Like it being hardcoded to the F6 map. Or better yet, a fine scope bearing dial if it is hidden somewhere. It looks like [Dial12] (Sol_Bearing10ths) in dials.cfg seems to be what I'm after. What does "Sol" mean?

Thanks for your prompt answer... but my question was wrong: both the previous versionad the WIP 1.2.0?
I hope you don't mind if I make "little" request...
would it be possible to include the dragable chronometer, it's a very useful tool that i would like to have with your mod.
That aside, all I have to say is that you did (are doind) a great job with this!
Thank you OLC.
