maybe it's my imagination but i thought the 16k mod changed the AI sensors a little but i never could point to anything specific, it was just a feeling.[/quote]
Not sure about the AI, but when in 'Uberboot' mode I want them to see me, for when they reach 6k the guns shred em'. IMO the 16k mod is far more realistic, after all on a clear day you can see (and I have) the 'White Cliffs of Dover' and thats 22 miles. |

CC and I have a lot in common then cept maybe the penchant for new
crew uniforms above. I went with a different sort of scary http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...5-3-2007_1.jpg |

Admittedly thats Venatores work (et al) not my own I dont have the skinning
skillset as such. MM |
Mush,
Thanks. I had gotten so frustrated at not being able to hit over 100k in GWX with any type of boat...and in my first 4 patrols hit over 100k. Now I can go back to regular GWX knowing I CAN do it! The one thing I regret is not getting a screeny when, on my first patrol, I sunk the Hood, Rodney, and Nelson in the same patrol. Sadly, SH3 decided that the Hood was to be treated as an Elco (I think it sank about the same time and the puter got confused) but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing I did it, and made it home with only 8% hull left. :D |

Hello Mush Martin !
How you obtain that inclination in the submarine? :hmm: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...-2-2007_13.jpg |
Trick Photography honestly!
this pic was taken during high speed maneuver stability testing as I was reworking the physics model, the ship was rocking back and forth badly and and I was taking a series of pics to show the roll 50 to 50 but while taking those pics I got this one and felt it was a very flashy angle so I kept it in truth I guess you could say it was an accident of engineering. I am happy to report that those instabilities led to an improved physical model for uber 2.whatever were at now and the version currently under development enjoys much improved highspeed stability model as a result. I just liked the picture. now as my regulars will be aware I have been a little under active on subsim for the last almost two months now. however although I am seeming a little more absent these days work is progressing. I have also finally heard back from privateer and his contributions to uber final should be forthcoming sometime after summer solstice. I am looking forward both to seeing those final essential touches and am in a few spare hours here and there still putting what touches left I can do. however the none linear surface combat single mission has been giving greif in the sense that I cant get consistent player experience in the timing and am going to back bench that part for now. As my intent is to work a lot more on mission building in sh3 and 4 after uber I feel there will be an opportunity to perfect it later and make it available as an uber mission once it is perfected. in the short term prior to release I think I will instead work up a fresh linear mission as it is much easier to control player experience that way. I felt that the original included mission though suffering the limitations of linear design held a lot of excitement building in its presentation. I have played it in testing through three versions over five or six months and still enjoy the skirmishes. regards to all MM |
